Belle Vue Guest House

Just back from a one night stay at the superb Belle Vue guest house. It was faultless! We had a lovely comfortable room, with attention to detail rarely seen. For example, the in-room beverages tray even had an excellent decaf coffee bag which, with fresh milk available from a fridge downstairs, was most welcome after our long drive from the North West and, although we didn’t indulge, beers, wine and other drinks were also available with an ‘honesty’ box payment arrangement. Breakfast was excellent. The choice was impressive and everything was nicely presented and served. Thank you Martyn and Lou. We’ll definitely be back! PS. For dinner there are restaurants in Downham Market just a short drive, or 20 minute walk, away.

A wonderful stay in a beautiful guesthouse. The bed was comfy and the pillows fluffy and light. The shower was powerful with plenty of hot water, the complimentary soaps and body cream were a real treat. Breakfast did not disappoint. For me, it was smoked salmon and scrambled eggs. The eggs were cooked to perfection. The host was extremely friendly but at the same time not imposing. I had a wonderful stay and hope to visit again.

A beautiful house in the pretty village of Denver. The owners have nailed it in terms of the warm welcome on arrival and the level of detail in every aspect of the business. Sumptuous rooms with huge comfy beds and impeccable decor. The rear terrace, available to guests, looked so inviting, akin to a villa in Greece with its beautifully lit planting. Can’t wait to visit again.

What an amazing place! Huge room, done up to a very high standard. They've clearly put such love into it. Wonderful breakfast. Martyn was a fantastic host from the start of the booking process to the end of our stay. Very accommodating for us and our 2 small children. We were up for my dad's birthday. When I saw my dad he said he'd also stayed at Belle Vue, and would also highly recommend.

I had a fabulous few days at the Belle Vue Guest House. Martyn gave me a warm, friendly welcome on arrival—it is always a good start! My room and the shower were fantastic, stylish and modern, with a keen attention to detail, making the stay even better. I must mention the breakfast!! My diet went out the window, it was too good to miss!! Would and have recommended to family and friends.

We have stayed at this wonderful and original guest house a few times and would highly recommend it. The welcome is friendly and genuine, the rooms very well thought out, clean and very comfortable and the breakfast has a wide choice and is excellent. It is a small establishment which makes it feel like home from home. I can't recommend it enough. An absolute must to stay here if you are in the area.

This was our second stay and our only regret was that we so wished we had booked more than the one night. We stayed in Whincommon with super comfy beds and a fabulous walk-in shower with great products. Martyn is a great host and made us feel so ‘at home’. As others have said the breakfasts are superb. Martyn happily accommodated my request for just some well cooked bacon and tomato as my hot option and it was cooked to perfection. I had a lovely walk after breakfast - despite not being all that long it went through some beautiful countryside. Our main visits this time were to Oxburgh Hall and The Rare Breeds Farm at Stow Bardolph - both well worth visiting.

I stay all over the country for work and this is the best place I've stayed in for a very long time. I normally use hotels because the perception of a 'guest house' is it's someone's abode and therefore pokey. This place is really a boutique hotel and it's stunning. It's been renovated and decorated to the highest standard, Martyn is a friendly guy and cooks as good a breakfast as you'll get anywhere. 10/10. I'm going to bring my wife and that's the greatest testimonial I can give the place. Well done!

The good reviews are well deserved. We stayed in The Ely room which was rather grand and immaculate. The ensuite was spacious and had a large shower. The breakfast options were varied and the food very good. Martyn has clearly put a lot of thought into ensuring his guests enjoy their stay. We wouldn't hesitate to book again.
