Hotel la Gentilhommiere

The hotel area is very pleasant and the setting is good, but the rooms are small for the price. The closet was not accessible; a table was in the way. The TV volume didn’t work. Lighting in the bathroom was poor. No bottled water in the room. Hotel staff unavailable on Sunday evening.

The location is lovely, but the room is very small with no facility at all. Towels are tiny and sc****. No fridge, no water to drink.no coffee. Television not working properly ( no audio). Connecting with the main reception is difficult and on Sunday night it was all closed, so impossible to comunicate with anybody . The bed is good but that is about it. I would not recommend it.

A huge difference in comfort, size - basically in everything between standard rooms and junior suites. Price difference only EUR 30 per night. Choose a junior suite if available. Standard rooms are small, dark and fronting a parking space. Nice location although not walking distance from NSG. Nice staff and service. Excellent breakfast and dinner.

This is the second time we have stayed here. It is just enough off the motorway to be in a lovely quiet setting. Very pretty hotel, with a decent restaurant. We were on a ground floor room, facing away from the road, and is accessible and great for pets. The rooms are basic, but good enough. Don't forget to book the restaurant and check that it is open the day you stay. The coupe de champagne is a decent size glass and welcome after a long day of traveling. I shall stay here again.

We stayed here just 1 night on our way through to Alsace. We had a suite room facing away from the road and into the woods. Lots of lovely birdsong. Room was big, bed was very comfortable and a super king size. We ate in the restaurant onsite. Service was very good, attentive and friendly, even though the restaurant was busy. Food was delicious and interesting with several intriguing small dishes from the chef. Excellent wine recommendation from the water too. Breakfast was a buffet but well kept and plenty of choice. A beautiful building with friendly staff. We’d be happy to stay here again.

We booked this hotel when travelling to the south of France May 12 and upon our return to Belgium June 3, 2023. The location is nice, close to the highway direction north or south. The rooms are small and furnished without any taste. Amenities in the bathroom the strict minimum. Toilet old and uncomfortable. May 12, the service at the restaurant was rude. We had the feeling being unwelcome guests. June 3, returning, in the afternoon there was a large group of people having some kind of a party. Reception told us the evening would be quiet. Much to our surprise, there was another very large group of tourists, making a tour in France. This group was extremely noisy. Moreover, all of the waiters were busy with the group. We had to wait more than 50 minutes before we could order drinks and food!!! Again, service was not friendly. The guests not belonging to the group were hardly taken care of. I suggest the management of the hotel should choose between a group hotel or a hotel for individual guests, or hire more staff. Even the staff did not look happy. My conclusion: never return there.

I’m rating the hotel 5 mainly for the staff who run the establishment and also for its location. Our suite was very big and had a wonderful view over the woodland to the back of the hotel. The bed was very comfortable and the room facilities basic but adequate. There was plenty of parking too right outside the rooms. Breakfast was very traditional and plentiful, the staff were extremely accommodating and very good. Even when we stayed on a Sunday night and the restaurant was closed the maitre-de prepared us a cosy fire, drinks and supper. He was a very good and professional member of the team! Thank you

This hotel was recommended by family and we are glad we stopped. The rooms are very cute and clean. Parking is in front of your door. The whole complex is stunning and the area is lovely and quiet. Dinner though was a big surprise. It was delicious! And the wine they recommended was great too. Will definitely come back.

We stayed overnight on the way home from a holiday. Although our rooms were on the small side we spent very little time in them, apart from sleeping, The location and setting of the hotel are excellent, fronted by a field of sunflowers and surrounded by fine gardens. The staff were friendly and attentive. We ate at the hotel restaurant and the food was very good, with an extensive wine list. We shall definitely be staying at the hotel again, as well as recommending to friends.
