My husband and I were on a 24-day car trip and stayed here one night. I saw another review of this hotel that said the staff was "mean" while others were fine. I would describe our experience as "rude" or "disinterested". We arrived in town early and the door was locked so we rang the buzzer. I wanted to see if we could drop off one small piece of luggage with contents that were best not left in a hot car while we toured. We rang again when nothing happened and I was cut off before I could even fully explain my need with "Check-in is at 3:00" (click). Shocked we went away and returned around 4:00 to check in to find the same locked door. We rang, waited, ran again and then another guest arrived. He rang. This got somebody's attention and we were let in. There was no welcome. I identified who we were. The young man (same one) went into the office where there was a woman he conferred with. I wondered if there was a problem and re-interated our request on the reservation for a first floor room if there was no elevator because of the challenge oof handling our bags. He said nothing. All he did was ask if we knew where parking was. We saw spaces behind the building so I said "Yes." The young man pointed at the elevator door once we got our key. My husband and I are seniors and struggled with the luggage in the absence of some assistance. The young man did not life a finger as he watched us. (We had to make 2 trips on the elevator.) Later, we realized we did not have the WIFI password. There was no one at the desk and no answer on the phone. My husband finally heard the voice of the young man and followed it to ask his question. (The young man was chatting with other staff.) We left for dinner and there was only one place behind our building which had a sign on it indicating it was for hotel guests. We parked there but did see a van nearby that would be blocked in. We had no other option and thought that perhaps it was there for the night. My husband had no sooner gotten comfortable than the same person called and told him that he couldn't park there and had to move the car. That meant my hustand had to get dressed and go down to be re-directed. We had no idea that the hotel had another building with more parking we could use even though our room was not in that edifice. We both felt like we were more of an imposition on the staff's day than guests. Unfortunately, facilities can be clean and accommodating. If the staff, however, is not welcoming or effective, that doesn't matter.
