Even before our due arrival date we experienced the excellent service this place provides. We flew in to Finch Hattons Air***** from Wilson Airport. Due to the wording on the itinerary our driver was given he was waiting at Kilaguni Air***** as we were saying 3 nights at Kilaguni Lodge (we fully understood his thinking). Clearly some communications took place and the Camp Manager Jonathan arranged for one of their vehicles to be at the air***** to pick us up and take us back to Finch Hattons camp. We had the use of facilities, pots of tea provided, and we could walk around the grounds a bit. This was all before they realised that after Kilaguni we were coming back here. Another vehicle was orgainised, with the driver/guide we would be allocated when we actually stayed. He drove us, with in effect a game drive, towards Kilaguni to meet our other driver. All in all a very nice introduction to the camp. So some days later we returned. We arrived quite early, c.0900, but there were not many guests and our tent was ready. We were given a briefing and an orientation of the camp, including the pool and spar, before being taken to our room. The claim is luxury and that is certainly the case. There is a lockable door at the front. Inside a very large double bed. There is a well stocked mini bar with tea and coffee if you want it. Plus a desk with lighting. Up a couple of steps, behind the bed are two wash basins, plus a loo at one side and an indoor shower at the other. Doors either side lead out to two open air showers. At the front is a wooden decking area with cushioned seating and a view over the small lake. We could see the balcony of one other suite from here and that is all. Once it is dark you are escorted to and from your tent. There are no fences around the camp and animals can come and go at their will. Meals are served in the open-air restaurant. During our stay all were served at the table with only cereal etc at breakfast in the form of a buffet style. Service at meal times was exemplary and very friendly as well. The food was superb throughout. The meal etc on our first night (it was an anniversary and birthday trip) was in a private roof area and was just magnificent. We had a small audience of Bush Babys to accompany this. Tea/Coffee and biscuits are brought to your tent in the morning at an agreed time. These are served though a slat in the tent so not to be left outside to tempt monkeys. From then on it will depend on what activities you have arranged. On our “first” morning we went on an early morning game drive and then treated to a bush breakfast, just the two of us. A splendid spread inc a chef to cook eggs etc, also included a bottle of sparkling wine. On arrival before our actual stay we were warned about monkeys, green vervet, trying to get in to rooms. That said we saw very few and none were pests, keeping their distance and we had none anywhere near our room, this may have been due to th
