Lyric Hotel Paris Opera

Paris|0.06km from Les Affames
The location of this hotel was very good, just around the corner from a metro station, within easy walking distance from the Opera and transport from the airport, and good restaurants, bars and a small supermarket very close by. We had booked a Classic room which was on the top floor and along one side of the room, there were the eaves which made it very difficult to get around the bed, you could easily bang your head if you forgot to duck down and we did. There was only one small wardrobe and we struggled for space a little, the same in the bathroom with not enough shelf space for toiletries etc. The design of the units could have been planned better. We had booked a breakfast package in the deal, but when we arrived, they told us that only breakfast for one person had been booked as there was only one name on the booking. It does clearly say that breakfast for 2 persons each day was included and that was written on the printout that I showed them and on the booking confirmation online but I took their word for it and we had to pay again. I should have checked again more properly myself on the paper. So now we have the hassle of trying to claim this back from the hotel. We chose this hotel mainly for the pool and spa facilities, which were very welcoming after lots of walking about in the day and located in the basement with a small gym room and the breakfast area which was well stocked with a good choice of foods. The staff were always friendly and helpful, and you felt at ease but I felt that the price was a little too high for the standard of the hotel and room that we had.

First of all, the rooms are so small you will not be able to open your suitcase on the floor or anywhere else for that matter. We booked a room with AC and when we checked in, there was no functioning AC in the room. We contacted reception to change rooms, but we were told that was not possible and that no rooms has fcuntioning AC, and thatthey were waiting for someone to repair it. The receptionist was quite rude and did not apologize or explain why this info was not offered when we booked a few days before. He just sarcastically told us to open the windows. We said we would check out of the room the next morning to which he just said ”ok”. The next morning when we checked out we were told we could change to a different room, but we declined as we had already booked a new hotel. After we had left, we got an angry call from some manager who demanded we come back and get a new room. They were apparently lying when they said there were no other rooms with AC the day before, and the manager calling us kept insisting that they had never said that at all and that we had made up that there were no other rooms. She kept interrupting on the phone and refused to acknowledge that we were two people in the conversation with the receptionist the day beforewho both heard him say this, and even though she had not heard the conversation herself, she seemed to know better than anyone what had been said there. This really is one of the worst hotel experiences I have ever had, both in terms of the quality of the room and the rude and unprofessional staff. I don't particularly enjoy getting lied to and then being accused of making things up, and I also don't enjoy trying to sleep in a tiny room that is boiling. We will not be back and we recommend no one else is either.

Mercure Paris Opera Louvre

Old style hotel which i liked, room was clean and comfortable bed and good shower but that is where the good ended. Location is not the best, not many restaurants around, quite a walk to the Louvre. Be aware there is a tiny lift but there are more stairs on each floor to negotiate with suitcases. I am loyal to Accor and feel as a gold member I received zero benefits. Room was not ready at 3pm (2pm check in) and had to wait with no chairs to sit on, no welcome drink offered, probably the worst room in the hotel, booking said city view instead we had a lovely view of an internal wall and windows on the 3rd floor, incredibly difficult to get a 1 hour late check out, constantly fobbed off to next shift, when finally granted the cleaners kept coming in so we gave up and left. Staff were unwelcoming and generally unhelpful. Felt as if I might have just walked in off the street instead of spending a lot of money this year in Accor hotels, in fact most of the Ibis hotels we used had better rooms and staff. Definitely better hotels in Paris

The location is between the Louvre and the Paris Opera, all within a 10-minute walk, very convenient. The hotel is very new, beautifully decorated, stylish and reasonable, and the rooms are small but adequate. The toiletries in the room are L'Occitane, a capsule coffee machine and a kettle, slippers, no toothbrush and toothpaste, and a half bottle of champagne. The front desk service was especially good. When I left, I asked if I needed to bring a bottle of water to drink. In the afternoon, I also provided free tea. It is a very cost-effective hotel in Paris. Stay next time!

Hôtel Baudelaire Opéra

There is a small elevator, the room is not big, but it is very tidy, it is very convenient to walk 10 minutes to the Louvre and Printemps, and it is 2 minutes to walk to the subway station. There are many Japanese food and restaurants around, and it is very convenient to buy water in the supermarket. During the parade in Paris, the store specially reminded to pay attention to safety. The team came and locked the door and bought water for everyone, which was very heartwarming. Highly recommend.

My husband had booked this hotel as part of my 50th celebrations. On arrival our room had been upgraded and complimentary breakfast was offered for the two mornings of our stay. The staff were very friendly and helpful and we would use this hotel again when visiting Paris as the location was perfect.
