Haha, this hotel definitely requires a bit of an adventurous spirit to stay at! It was built in 1926, so it's celebrating its 100th anniversary this year. In the lobby restaurant, there's a very old manual plug-in switchboard. The hotel's past life probably wasn't as a hotel; it gives off more of a government archives vibe 😂. The room facilities are a bit dated, especially the carpet, but there's a certain echo of the 1950s. The bathroom is quite small, and the shower area, in particular, seems like it would be a squeeze for anyone a bit larger. Canberra gets really cold, so it was a thoughtful touch that the hotel provided extra blankets. Overall, I think you need to have a bit of a nostalgic appreciation to truly enjoy this kind of hotel. The service, however, was quite good.

Likman509Facilities: A bit on the older side, but Canberra doesn't offer a vast selection of hotels anyway.
Location: Great location; most city attractions are just a few kilometers away.
Service: The front desk staff were very friendly and welcoming, and they handled any issues promptly.
Cleanliness: Acceptable.

Absolutely love this brand of apartment hotels! They are fully equipped and comfortable. I basically stay at this brand whenever I travel in Australia 🇦🇺! It's perfect for an old person like me 🧓👍

The room was spacious and clean, and the two large beds were perfect for a family stay. The hotel breakfast was fantastic; it was à la carte, with a main dish, a side dish, and a drink, and the quality was excellent. The hotel has a private, free parking lot accessible by a password. They also provide a washing machine and a dryer. Everything was great, except for the noise from the road in the morning if your room faces it.

Very clean, chic hotel with a popular restaurant and bar. It is conveniently located on Northbourne Avenue , Elouera St and Mort Street which is directly the line of Canberra's night clubs if you are coming on a weekend. There's only two sets of lifts for Hotel Clients which isn't a problem for an Asian ( moi) who is used to very crowded areas. But this can be a bit inconvenient for locals who are used to express service. Pool, gym, sauna. Major plus points. And the best part of all is the free bar fridge in the room. (Not sure if it was a promotion but my friend and I could drink all of what was offered for free!) We didnt because we are massive alcohol fans.
The only major downside is the 25 dollar parking fee. No, no no. You can raise the price a bit higher for the quality of rooms but it's a bit offputting to have that as an additional fee.
Overall, a pretty great experience from service to aminities.

Good hotel with decent amenities and an excellent location, but the staff experience was extremely disappointing. We were travelling with a young child and requested a late checkout. They informed us it would be $30 to extend beyond 10 AM, so we agreed. We checked out at 11:45 AM, only to find they had charged $60, which felt unreasonable and misleading.
On top of that, housekeeping knocked 3-4 times, and their behaviour was shockingly rude. One staff member even said, “You have 2 minutes, just get out in 2 minutes,” which was completely unprofessional. I’ve stayed in many hotels and have never encountered staff speaking or behaving like this.
0/5 for staff behaviour.
If you care about service, I strongly recommend choosing a more reputable hotel. If you’re on a tight budget and only want to stay near Parliament and don’t mind compromising on service, then this place might work - but be prepared for poor staff interactions.

谢依伦 CHIA JEE LUENThe location is super convenient, right in the city center with the bus station next door. There are no cooking facilities in the room, but they have a restaurant with a breakfast buffet and à la carte dinner. Public amenities include a pool and a sauna (though it was closed when I tried to use it in the evening). The service was friendly and helpful with any issues. Overall, it was great! 😍

Guest UserHad a great stay. The front desk were very accomodating in assisting me extend my stay multiple times. Only thing that could be improved is a more frequent patrol of the hallways and property. Bins are overfilled and i think house keeping needs a more controlled schedule.

Basic comfort provided, perfectly matched with the price with breakfast included. There was a nice selection of food, more sweet than salty, but still very satisfying.
The room was a bit old but clean.
