Some hotels give you a five-star experience from the moment you check in, while others start off just okay and then gradually earn their five stars. Qi Man belongs to the latter. To be honest, Qi Man wasn't the hotel I was looking for. Initially, I just wanted to find a highly-rated, clean, and pet-friendly hotel in Lijiang. When I saw Qi Man had the highest rating and best reviews, I booked it. It was only when I was driving there that I realized it wasn't near Lijiang city but rather in Lugu Lake. To my surprise, there was even an entrance fee to stay in Lugu Lake, and I almost turned back. Upon arrival, we couldn't park directly in front of the hotel. Although the hotel provided shuttle service back and forth, it was still quite inconvenient. Also, when I entered the room, there was a smell of smoke from the headboard. However, the hotel staff's service attitude eased my anxiety and frustration, making me willing to stay for one night. If I had left the next day, I probably would have given Qi Man a quite low rating. But on the second day, seeing the scenery of Lugu Lake, the backyard of Qi Man, and the swaying tree shadows, I suddenly felt much better. The staff were friendly, there were many kittens in the backyard, and also fruit trees. The entire hotel design was also thoughtfully done. Because of this, I didn't regret staying for a few days as planned and even extended my stay for a few more days. If I had left on the third day, I would have definitely given Qi Man a five-star rating. Unfortunately, on the fourth day, someone was smoking on the balcony. Qi Man's design is excellent, and the lake views are fantastic. Sitting on the balcony with a coffee, enjoying the cool breeze and the lake and mountain scenery, is pure bliss – but not when you're inhaling second-hand smoke, which also drifts into the room. So, I can't give five stars for hygiene.

I brought my kids to Lugu Lake and was worried about the guesthouse's conditions before checking in. However, it completely exceeded my expectations and gave my kids so many pleasant surprises. Now I understand why it has so many good reviews! 👍 First, the service: every staff member was warm and polite. Someone always helped us with our luggage upon arrival and departure. Our 'Zhoma' (staff member) in particular was enthusiastic, thoughtful, and meticulous, truly making us feel at home! 👍 The hotel environment is truly excellent, right by the lake. Sitting on the balcony, sipping coffee and enjoying the lake view was incredibly relaxing. It was very quiet at night; besides the sound of the waves, there was hardly any noise. Even I, who has extremely high standards for sleeping environments, slept soundly until morning! 👍 The hygiene and cleanliness were even more impressive. You can tell the owner pays great attention to detail. All disposable amenities were provided, including disposable toilet seat covers, disinfectant wipes, and even feminine products. I didn't even need to use my own disposable items! 👍 Plus, the hotel also offered a nine-grid breakfast, afternoon tea, and goodnight desserts. Every little detail was incredibly thoughtful! 👍 If I ever get the chance to visit Lugu Lake again, or if friends come to visit, I will definitely recommend this hotel! 👍👍👍

My first review on Ctrip is dedicated to Muyu Guesthouse in Lugu Lake. As someone who doesn't like to do much research, I'm always afraid of being misled by online photos before booking. After browsing hundreds of hotels and guesthouses, I finally chose Muyu, which I suppose was fate. The result far exceeded my expectations: the entire guesthouse is decorated in warm orange tones, and every room exudes a cozy and romantic atmosphere. I especially loved the small garden on the first floor—among the guesthouses in the area, only Muyu has maintained its plants so meticulously, perfect for photos and for pets to play in. The short-haired landlady is efficient and warm, with a natural radiance in her conversation. From the spatial layout to the service details, her thoughtfulness is evident everywhere. Even the recommended local restaurants were a pleasant surprise. Lugu Lake is already a paradise worth visiting repeatedly, and Muyu's existence gives this longing a true home. After returning home, Mr. Z was inspired to write a poem for Muyu as a token of his gratitude: Muyu: Emerald green hills creep up the steps at dawn, the reed gates open to reveal a lush dew. Muyu The aroma of beans cooked in the spring fills the house; the cauldron, like clouds, is simmered, its surface shimmering like silk. Occasionally, mountain birds are called to add to the wild vegetables; sometimes, the moon shines on the fragrant cup. The most sentimental is the guest by the abyss, who rises at dawn to simmer a soup of fine, delicate ingredients.

I'm quite particular about my living environment. I usually stay in hotels when I travel, but since there really aren't any hotels in Lugu Lake, I chose this guesthouse after a lot of comparison. I was quite apprehensive before checking in, but to my surprise, the environment far exceeded my expectations. First of all, the lobby, restaurant, and rooms were all extremely clean and tidy, even better than the pictures online. All the furniture felt high-quality, and you could tell a lot of money was invested in the decor. Secondly, and what I care about most, is the hygiene. There was hardly any dust in the room, and even the hard-to-reach spots were cleaned thoroughly. The inside of the bathtub was smooth; I ran my hand along it, and there was no dead skin or dust, which shows how meticulous the cleaning was. Furthermore, I paid close attention to the softness of the toothbrushes, the thickness of the slippers, the variety of breakfast, the skin-friendliness of the bedding, and whether the pillows supported the neck. All of these aspects were comparable to or even better than H World Group hotels. There were no water stains on the mirror either. It offered the cleanliness of a hotel with the scenic beauty of a guesthouse – an excellent experience. Finally, the room also included complimentary face masks and steam eye masks, which was a pleasant surprise. The owner is very generous and clearly puts a lot of effort into running the place. On our way here, the driver told us that this is the most popular accommodation in Lugu Lake, with people coming and going every day. After staying here, the experience definitely lives up to its popularity. Compared to a guesthouse we stayed at in Yangshuo, which cost 1.5 times more, the experience there was significantly worse. The hotel is located on the lakeside not far from the lake area. The balcony faces southeast. We arrived in the afternoon and saw the beautiful scenery of Lugu Lake. Lugu Lake is quiet and beautiful, just like this hotel and the hostess of the hotel. A girl, enthusiastic and sincere. We thought that afternoon tea was just a cup of tea and a few biscuits. But they had 4 kinds of fruits, French fries and chicken nuggets, and the tea was also a local specialty flower tea. It was very attentive at first glance. There were also desserts in the evening. The rice noodles for her breakfast were much better than those in most restaurants. The hotel is clean, well-equipped, and the hot water in the bathtub is sufficient. It adds a lot of color to the trip to Lugu Lake. I look forward to going there again next time.

I love Muyun Villa so much! The decoration style is unique, showing the local culture everywhere. The room is spacious and bright, with first-class lighting. In the courtyard at night, accompanied by the breeze of Lugu Lake, I felt the comfort and tranquility, and it was an unforgettable accommodation experience.

This hotel truly exceeded my expectations! It's incredibly close to the water, and the views are absolutely stunning. I drove around the lake, and honestly, I don't think there's any other hotel that's closer to the water, and the waterside scenery is fantastic, not just being close to the water for the sake of it. Overall, I don't think there's a hotel in Lugu Lake scenic area that's closer to the water than this one. Those with better views aren't as affordable, and those that are cheaper don't have views this good. I'll share some photos I took from my hotel room and nearby!

The lake view is absolutely stunning! Breakfast was served promptly and was very tasty. Taking a hot spring bath was particularly comfortable – pure bliss! We booked rooms with private hot tubs for both nights, which was incredibly relaxing. The place was also very clean. Plus, there's a street full of eateries right out the back door, making it super convenient to stay here in Daluoshui Village.

I didn’t expect that the family suite was so convenient. Kids can stay on the loft, and parents are still within their sight thanks to the open space design. This is very unique and truly family friendly. The amenities are modern with built-in smart technologies. Buffet breakfast is a proper combination of carbs, proteins and fruits, and they taste good. The staffs are polite and helpful. One could tell the hotel is thoughtfully designed and carefully maintained. A big thumbs up for this hotel. Will definitely stay here again if we visit Lugu lake next time.

Upon arrival, hotel manager Lamu greeted us with a warm smile and told us she could upgrade us to an even nicer room to welcome us to her lovely guesthouse. The location was great, the view wonderful and the breakfasts each morning were just right (and they served you sitting, vs. having to go through a buffet line)! The decor of the hotel is stunningly beautiful with lush gardens, rustic antiques and modern amenities all complementing one another. Lamu kindly offered to help us with any local tourism or transportation needs and easily accommodated our request to add a day onto our reservation, even giving us her personal cell phone number to contact her with any needs. We will definitely stay there each time we visit Lugu Lake!
