The rooms were spacious and comfortable. Good breakfast, especially the homemade jams and marmalade. A nice setting. Unfortunately, some areas for improvement. Swimming pool was not open. There were no other recreational facilities: the football field was overgrown; with flat balls and torn nets. The archery areas seemed not to have been used for some years. One of our rooms had a damp odor. There is effectively an 11 pm curfew because the reception closes at 11 pm and no one is there to open the gate. This is quite inconvenient when returning late from dinner otherwise Agrigento. We had sought and received confirmation in advance about laundry services. When we checked in, we were told there were no laundry services. Later another receptionist clarified that there was no laundry on that day. We had had it done the next day, but some items came back completely wrinkled so we could not wear them. For 10 euros per person, the laundry service could have been better.

This is an amazing country house hotel in perfect position for the town of Piazza Armerina and the Villa Romana with its amazing mosaics

Villa Trigona is an Agroturismo property near Piazza Armerina. Its not a luxury property but is very charming. Vast swimming pool. Room was very basic but clean. The main building looks nice, with a court in front with seats, and a terrace. The interior has some old style. All around you can walk in the countryside with trees, plants. And the reception team was really friendly.

We stayed in the Villa Tragona when visiting Villa Romana, the World Heritage site. Having been in the same family for hundreds of years, this hotel is located in the beautiful Italian countryside. We booked for a suite which, unknown to us when we booked, was located in the old house. You climb ancient curved stairs, through a sitting room, through a library to our room on the second floor. We were unclear what the suite was as we used neither of the outer rooms because only our room had the air conditioning on. The bed was fine though in a very tight alcove and the bathroom redone - but my husband woke up to ants all over his pills in the am. Our friends stayed in a brand new room - that would have been our preference when we discovered the choice. The ground are lovely to walk. The 6 course dinner, including wine and bottled water was one of the best meals we had on the trip. Definitely stay here if you are going to Villa Romana, enjoy walking through the old house, but stay in a room in the new addition

We stayed here recently for two nights. The rooms are very simple but more than adequate. The meals that were prepared were delicious. One would not have expected so much good food and at such reasonable prices. In all, the place is a deilight.

We spent two nights at this place in midst of a large green terrain. Mimo and the rest of the team at this hotel were very helpful. The food in the evening was something special, different starters, followed by pasta at its best and an additional dish with meat or else. Accompanied by red/white wine, what ever you liked, and all this encl. in the price for the menue. Just great. The pool - we did not use it - is very nice situated and you can relaxe after your visit to the famous Villa Romana and enjoy the quietness and lovely plants / flowers around. And not to forget, the breakfast with all these different cakes, cookies etc. was something special.

Sure you can get a great hotel room for $500 + a night. To get a very workable room- plus a 5 star breakfast and dinner for around $160 for 2- ah- that's much harder. Let's start at the beginning- Piazza Amerina is in the middle of nowhere - on two other trips we didn't have time. HUGE MISTAKE. The complexity and quantity of the ceramic floors at Villa Romana- are like no others. Breathtaking !! Villa Tragone- a grand Villa ( but with all due respect i recommend the newer builds a few feet away .) Nothing fancy- everything you need. A great large pool in total quiet. Perfect for laps. Now the food. Breakfast could compare with any giant 5 star. How they prepare so much for such a small property- is a mystery. An even greater mystery is the dinner- at least 6 courses of so well prepared food- plus a bottle of wine and mineral water............ I'm not one of those Trip Advisor one review wonders that rave about their uncles property- my advice- go to Piazza Armerina- stay at the Villa Trigara

I stayed here for 1 night with a small group tour and enjoyed my stay. The room was spacious, clean, very comfortable and had a nice view of the surrounding countryside. The shower was small but workable. WiFi service was very good. Dinner and the breakfast in the morning were excellent. I would stay here again.

Amazing hotel, very stylish, clean, wonderful breakfast, I wish all hotels would get as close to the standard of villa Trigona. Dinner was wonderful, so the breakfast.
