What a beautiful hotel, made even better by the people who work there! My three daughters, my husband and I spent three nights there for our first visit to the Puglia region. If you have not been to the south of Italy before, definitely go now! San Michele, located in Polignano a Mare, served as a perfect base to explore the region. Make sure to stay in a suite at San Michele with a sea view. Plan to attend the evening apertif hour on the rooftop with gorgeous views of the sunset and cliffs. Savor the delicious breakfast served by the fabulous Serena -- one of the nicest and most welcoming people that I have ever met at a hotel. Speak with Valentina about booking a motor boat tour of the caves. Take a tour of UNESCO sights, also arranged by Valentina. If planning to go to Puglia, you have found your hotel. You will not be disappointed!

This was one of the most amazing places we've ever stayed (and we've traveled a lot). The views are incredible--definitely book your room early so you can get a sea view room--it's worth it! If you can't get it, be sure to enjoy the evening drinks and fabulous snacks on their balcony, which has an amazing sea view. In addition to its fabulous location, the staff is also what makes this place so wonderful. They are SO helpful and will do anything they can to make your stay perfect. They'll book private tours to other towns and sites in Puglia; they'll make dinner reservations; they'll book boat trips to see the caves dotting the coastline. They are very friendly and will help make your stay there magical. The breakfasts are also great and it is made to order (there are only a few rooms, so they remember what you like and each day they'll ask if you want something similar or different). I rarely post reviews on TA, but this place was so incredible.

Just the most loveliest staff, best breakfast and stunning location. We went on our honeymoon for our two nights and it was magical. Can’t recommend highly enough, you must go! We booked the suite with the terrace overlooking Poligiana de Mare, sensational view.

I could not rave more about my experience at this hotel. After checking in to another hotel we were not happy with the room and were desperately looking for another hotel for just one night. We called this hotel and they not only had a room for us, they came over and took our luggage (there are no cars allowed in the area we were staying) and delivered us to the most beautiful room facing the sea. The room was beautifully decorated and the staff was so accommodating. When it was time to leave they arranged for transportation, walked our luggage to the van and even offered to accompany us to the airport. What a great experience. (The only suggestion I would offer would be blackout shades as the light illuminating the sea sealed into our room. Highly highly recommend.

Absolutely spectacular stay and I can’t say enough about this little gem! Everyone we met went above and beyond to make us feel special and welcome! They gave us wonderful recommendations for restaurants and helped set up a fabulous boating experience and rides to and from the airport! Go! Well worth every penny!

The staff here is lovely. So warm, they remembered our names, good energy. Unbeknownst to us we arrived on a national holiday, so the narrow streets of the town were virtually impassible and our plans for exploring became less appealing. However, we had to get out of our room. The staff was extremely flexible in letting my daughter and me stay at the rooftop terrace two more hours so we could enjoy the location. Btw, the sunset “drinks” were enough for us to make dinner out of by the way? Very generous.

The hotel was amazing! Great location, very cute rooms and very comfortable. The view from the terrace was incredible. The service was 10/10, they took such good care of us! Valentina was extremely helpful, always ready to help and give recommendations and support. I would recommend this hotel to everyone, the customer service is otherwordly.

San Michele Suites is 5 star all the way. We were the first guests of the season and were upgraded to a large suite overlooking the water. The view alone is really worth the price! Valentina treated us like she was our personal assistant. She took care of every single detail from parking to luggage to tour recommendations and restaurant reservations. She even contacted a local ceramics shop owner to open up for us to make purchases. We arrived on my birthday to a beautiful bouquet of flowers and special chocolates from a local shop. The entire experience was above and beyond!! The decor and details of the hotel are impeccably tasteful. Italian linens, ceramics and bath products are luxurious. I would love to return when the weather is warmer.

Polignano a Mare is a great town to visit, and this hotel is the perfect place to stay while there. The location was unbeatable, walkable to everything in town and overlooking Lama Monachile. The hotel itself was beautiful and spotless but best of all was the staff. Valentina, Marika, and Margarete were beyond helpful leading up to our trip, upon arrival, and during our stay. They even helped coordinate our transportation to and from the hotel. Would highly recommend staying here!
