Cosy traditional but well modernised dog friendly country inn with superb service and delicious , locally sourced food. Managed (with some luck as they were busy) to book in at an hour’s notice on a Sunday afternoon with two dogs(who were welcomed with water and treats). Small menu-usually a good sign and it was in this case-of which our party of four sampled quite a selection. We had, between us, roast beef, local free range chicken, hake and celeriac steak. Four clean plates and four happy customers. Blue cheese ice cream made with cheese from a nearby dairy was delicious as was a panna cotta. Wine by the glass was more than acceptable as were the beer and cider. This wasn’t our first visit -the last being equally good-and it won’t be our last. Highly recommended and worth driving to.
