Yet another great visit to the Vik San Antonio really cannot fault it in any way- friendly staff and spotlessly clean and always something to choose to eat - special mention to LI in the dining room - his is a great character who never fails to extend a special welcome and a smile.

I stay here 4-5 times a year, I love the location, staff, food, views etc. mostly there are no kids, but during school holidays there can be. Parents are allowing them scream at the tops of their voices annoying other hotel guests, majority of them elderly. It’s a disgrace. This is not a kids hotel.. I also suggest that the top pool area is made Adults Only. Parents need to take responsibility for kids and their chronic noise!!!

We had a week's stay at San Antonio Hotel. We found the hotel well situated, for walks into Puerto del Carmen, and Los Pocillos. Local buses were very close by to use. Our room was clean, nice balcony, the staff are friendly, helpful, and attentive to cleaning your room. Evening entertainment was very good. This hotel seems to be popular with the older age group, and people with mobility needs, whilst we were there. We found swapping our evening meal to have lunch instead a much more pleasant experience, and more relaxed. Sunbeds were at times an issue. People reserved them with towels, or laying an upturned table on top, and didn't turn up to use them. We were dished out some very dirty looks one day, when we used 2 sunbeds, which had nothing on to indicate anyone was using them. Some ladies went on talking very disgruntled, for quite a time. Hotel rules are that you can't put a towel on to reserve a bed!! Other than this unnecessary incident, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay here.

We loved this hotel, 10 days was not enough. spotlessly clean, all staff were very attentive. Food was fabulous. Plenty of sun beds, unfortunately you always get some who put towels on sunbeds and never seem to use them. We found this twice in volcanic garden, we arrived in garden at 9.30 and left at 4pm and sunbeds were not used. Evening entertainment was spot on for the age group which were mainly retirement age, as we are. Room safe was included. €10 returnable deposit for each beach towel. Rooms are dark wood furniture, doors and skirting. Walls are papered and then painted. Our room 1114 could do with a bit of attention ie skirting boards needs finishing off and wall with tv on looked a bit tatty. Room cleaner was excellent. All being well, We plan to return next year for month.

After a week at the VIK San Antonio hotel, this is quite a very hard review to write. Basically as there were some good points, but equally some bad. Considering the hotel is 50 years old, it has been modernised. We stayed in 2 rooms, as we moved after 2 night due to the AirCon not working. The 2nd room then had a shower that flooded the bathroom floor when used. We did raise this with maintenance, but still leaked after a them taking a look. We just left a towel down to soak up. Both rooms were very clean, but quite tired. Only other ****** was the Safe. It was extra.. this hotel claims a 4* rating, so I’d not expect to pay to use a safe. We stayed on a half board basis. The food was buffet style for all meals. It was plentiful, but we found quite repetitive. The chose was also very much aimed at the majority age group at the hotel of over 70’s. There was entertainment in the hotel every evening. However, this again was aimed at the over 70’s. Also the service at the entertainment bar is horrendous. On the one night we did decide to have a drink, I was stood at the bar for well over 25 minutes. Annoyingly watching the bar staff serve, laugh, & joke with the regulars…. This is definitely a point the hotel needs to address… The pool area is good, lots of different areas to find sun-beds. A lot seem to get reserved with towels, but still ample after breakfast. The foyer has lots of comfortable seating. The staff (excluding evening bar) were extremely friendly, & helpful. If we returned to Lanzarote, would definitely consider staying here again. Its location is ideal, but we did simply used as a base. Possibly a waste of a hotel with so much to offer, even if it is aimed at the older generation. What does make this an awkward review to write, but I feel I need to add. I’m not an anti ageist person, as I’m retired myself. But my wife & I do class ourselves as young at heart with a positive & considerate outlook on life. We found many staying who did share this trend. At meal times we found too many guests to simply ignore, that were Ignorant, arrogant, & had little regard for other’s personal space. While I accept the hotels staff aren’t responsible for people’s attitudes. I feel it needed to listed.

We stayed here 2 years ago, roughly the same time of year. We returned, as the hotel is in a great location, and we had good service etc. Sadly the same could not be said this visit. For a hotel of this location, it really does need to be updated. We were in room 4701, and it was in serious need of refurbishment. The ceiling in the bathroom had been lifted in one corner leaving a huge gap, and had been wedged open with a piece of wood. The light by the side of the bed was hanging off the wall! The shower curtain was horrible, and the mattress had collapsed on one side. This said, when told them, they did put things right, apart from the mattress and shower curtain. The service in the restaurant was not as good as before. We were all inclusive, and it seemed to us that they would rather serve those who were half board as they paid for drinks, and therefore the staff were more likely to get a tip. When we asked for drinks, we were told ‘momento’ then they served other diners. As it was so hot, the no shorts at dinner time rule was lifted, but we saw people come in from the pool still in pool gear for an evening meal, so standards are not always upheld. The WiFi is abysmal! It didn’t work in our room at all and was very much hit and miss everywhere. If you need WiFi, you may want to think of other options if you stay here. The clientele of this hotel have an average age of 50 + so if you’re looking for party central, look elsewhere. There were families with children here, but not many. Evening entertainment was ok, and there were daytime activities should you wish to take part. If you’re there on a Sunday get the bus to Costa Teguise market….be prepared not to queue for the bus, as it’s a free for all!!! If you’re want a giggle, go to the crazy golf opposite the hotel, great fun! The hotel is kept clean, and the lady that cleaned our room, was quick, efficient and friendly. We went with friends and had a good time, but will probably not return again.

Stayed here for 10days for the first in this hotel, and we enjoyed it very much. Thought we would give it a try, as we usually go self catering. The food was very good. The rooms were large and very well kept. The WiFi could do with up grading in the room and in public areas. We booked a comfort room. Will definitely be back.

Hotel looks good from the outside and the reception however beyond that the hotel has not been updated in a number of years. Hotel decor seems dated and very old fashioned and doesn’t look to have kept up with similar starred hotels in the area. Rooms were very clean but again in need of modernizing. It’s a bit crazy this day in age that there’s no kettle in the room unless you have a “gold level” status and that the fact the fridge is €10 to be opened in case you try and leave water in there instead of buying it from the hotel. The bar area is in dire need of a face lift and more staff to be available for drink orders. The entertainment is also lacking severely and the acts feel dated and no engaging with the guests. The lack of card payment facilities in this day and age is also a disgrace. Everything is either cash only or else to be added to the room charge. What hotel doesn’t accept card payments? The restricted drinks menu and lunch menu at the “pool bar” is also a joke. Some of the alcohol is poured from a jug into a pint glass and then topped up from the tap. Unsure why this is the case but the drink doesn’t taste the same. The lack of bottles of alcohol or pints of alcohol is also dismal. For a hotel with such large percentage of English speaking guests, the staffs level of English at times was also questionable. Overall not the best place to stay and sadly will not be returning to this hotel due to the lack of investment in the basics. Other hotels on the island offer more for the same or slightly higher price but would seem the Vik San Antonio is not keeping up with modern times

Having read previous reviews we were not disappointed, a good all round hotel which we would not hesitate to return to. Only slight negatives were breakfast and the lack of fully operational water boiler and only 1 toaster which resulted in some queues. A toaster had become faulty but there did not seem to be a back up which was puzzling. The egg station was another area which could be improved with 1 person making omelettes and fried eggs and servicing the bread station which at peak times resulted in a 2 or 3 minute wait to get served and the eggs were a bit hit and miss and you needed to pick the best ones. The dining area overall was o lovely environment and service was good and lunch and evening meals were of good quality and enough choice. Room service was fine and the rooms were clean and all facilities worked. Entertainment was varied and depending on your choice was reasonable enough but the Chinese act was outplayed years ago and lacked any real quality. The drinks were of good quality but when you went through the drinks menu some drinks were not available although within the price range of the ones included? The beers were lager based and no real ale or John Smiths type beer were available. The mixers were pump but if you asked you could get bottled mixers but you needed to ask as they were not offered freely.

Being a second stay at the resort, it was worth every penny. Despite my low rating this time, the overall experience was still great either way. So my only 2 concerns were… 1) my hotel room was right next to a noisy lift & 2) a couple of restaurant waiters coming across selectively rude. I won’t go into any detail but just to say it was quite obvious on the treatment given to where you’re from. Eurovision results spring to mind… Apart from that, the resort was generally well kept, clean, quiet and had plenty of areas to soak up some rays. Not to mention it’s right next to the beach, which is great if you want to avoid anyone… The food and drink at the resort was exceptional, well worth going fully inclusive! The evenings were fantastic too with a line up of pretty okish acts. In all fairness, I would still consider going back to the resort for my next holiday.

We have just returned from this lovely hotel. Although dated it is much more comfortable than some modern hotels. A couple of disappointments were that our side sea view room was actually facing building work that is supposed to be a new snack bar when it is finished but apparently it hasn't been touched for a long while and is just an eyesore at present. At least there was no noise from building works! One of the other disappointments was that the beach actually made it impossible to get in the sea! There was a small, sandy beach but then big stones and rocks between the sand and the sea. Such a shame. Food was quite repetitive but nonetheless nice. Some staff were quite stand-offish and curt, although some were quite pleasant. Getting a drink in the bar was a struggle sometimes as for some reason, you order your drinks from a waiter who writes it on a beer mat and then he has to find the one waiter who has a handheld device to send the order to the bar! This meant it sometimes took up to 20 minutes to actually get a drink! Such a strange way to do things! The entertainment was very good most evenings. Two acts that stood out were Cuba YaYa and Essential Crossover. They were brilliant! There was lots of seating available and there was a great atmosphere. It was lovely to have seating round the pool bar and not just sunbeds. This made it very comfortable to sit and enjoy a drink or snack under the shade of an umbrella. All in all, a very relaxing and comfortable holiday. With a few tweaks it would have been a fantastic holiday.
Response from Property: Dear customer, All of us here in the Hotel are thrilled to learn that your holiday experience was a relaxing and pleasant one. Thank you for taking the time to write us your comments in order to give us the opportunity of improving our services. We cannot do nothing with the beach because it is not a property of the hotel, but we take note about the rest of suggestions you write us. It sounds like you had a really good time during your visit to our resort. It is a pleasure to read you appreciating our quiet and relaxing location, the cleanliness of our premises and the rest of our facilities Kind regards from Lanzarote,

I am trying to collect the most important things. These were important for me. As I always check this site when I travel, I decided to post my comments, too. I had beautiful time here in the hotel. I took a taxi from the airport it was less than EUR 20. I landed at 5:20 pm. I wrote to the hotel let them know that I would probably late. They offered that they would save me food for dinner in case I miss the dinner. But I arrived in time. The same was when I checked out. If your flight goes later, you can leave your baggage in the store at the reception area and they give you a stamp, so you can have lunch if you have all inclusive. So I had lunch and I went to the airport after lunch. You have to leave the room till 12, lunch is from 1 pm. My room was 3326 with a beautiful front ocean view. I am a single traveler. I booked a double comfort sea view room with all inclusive. The hotel is about 10 minutes from the airport by taxi. Lots of bars, shops, restaurants are in the area. With the all inclusive, using the fridge and the safe in the room were free. I used the gym once, I requested a small towel for the workout and I had to pay EUR 10 deposit, which I received back. It seemed the breakfast was the same every day but there were lots of things to choose. I had lunch and dinner every day. I always could find something to eat. Sometimes I tried things I didn’t know what those foods were. Everything was delicious. I had a birthday here and I found a birthday gift water and champagne in my room. I think that was champagne. As I never drink alcohol and called the reception that they can bring it back and they gave me coca cola instead of that. That was very kind from them. That was a surprise for me. I read in some comments that the wifi was terrible in the room. The wifi was really very bad in the room. I had issues to connect and many times got weak and lost connection. I went to the terrace near the pools every day. They have tables with chairs there and the wifi was good there. They have umbrella as well, so I could use my laptop for a couple of hours. And you can see the ocean there as well. But I could watch my Netflix in my room with my laptop. I had small issues in the hotel but when I asked the reception they always solved these small things immediately. They always welcomed me with the smile at the restaurant. They remembered what I drank. I only went to the capital, Arrecife. That was not easy. I couldn’t find sings. There was no monitor on the bus so I didn’t know where I was. The app said 36 minutes from here but it took about 10-15 minutes to get there. I accidentally get off at the right place because I saw the pictures on the internet when I checked where to go and I also saw a sign from the bus when we entered Arrecife. I took a taxi back to the hotel, that was EUR 20. The bus was less than EUR 2.
