Casa Carpedm

Starting several weeks before our stay, Fher and Kathy were answering questions and providing travel advice. With the state of emergency called 10 days before our stay we were a bit concerned but the staff were a great reassuance and resource about what was happening in Quito and Ecuador. I had booked excursions prior to booking my stay at Casa carpeDM. Had I spoke to the staff sooner, I would have booked more of my excursions (such as the Amazon) through their agency. The hostel itself is clean and well situated. The area is quiet, and you will get a good sleep, which is why i initially picked it. There's good wifi and hot water. We enjoyed the breakfast there. I would definitely advise you book the airport transfer with them as it's half the price others were paying for airport cabs. Fher was an excellent host and great resource. She definitely makes the stay enjoyable and was a huge help before and during our stay. We had an excellent holiday in Ecuador and are so thankful we didn't cancel. Good location, very comfy beds, good breakfast with fresh fruit and eggs, and very nice and helpful staff! The view from the top of the Hostal was amazing! They offer airport pickup/ transfer for 25$ each way as well. Communication before the trip was easy.

***** 5 Stars. Your advanture in Quito is not only about sight you might see. This hostel gave us not only roof upon the head but even gave us local experience (ok, that was New Year’s Eve I will never forget!) Arranging jungle tours and recommeding us changing our schedule accoring to local knowledge was one the best decisions we could have maked. Fernada, the host, is one of best people I have ever met around Ecuador.

I stayed for a few days prior to a tour and was delightfully surprised by the cleanliness and comfort of Carpe Diem for the price. The owners were very nice and showed me areas to go and parts of the city to avoid. They also provided a list of tips on how to be a safe traveler. The hostel is about a 20-30 minute walk from the town center or a very short - and cheap - cab drive, especially if the hostel gets a cab for you so it's less likely you get taken the "scenic route." The owners were especially helpful when I learned, the day before I left, that I had left my passport in a hotel in Banos. I wasn't sure it was there, but one of the owners found the name of the hotel, called them, insisted that they check the room multiple times, and arranged for it to be couriered three hours to Quito in time for my flight the next day. I was so happy! The only con about the hostel was the breakfast. It was cheap, but for $3.50, you could get something much better.

I visited Quito before and after taking a trip to the Galapagos Islands, and I stayed at CasaCarpeDM through the agency that booked my trip. From the very beginning of the trip, even before I got to Quito, the customer service was excellent in regard to getting me a ride to and from the airport. I spoke with Fehr, and she was able to assure me that there would be a driver waiting for me when I arrived which was true and he was very easy to find! The ride was also a ton cheaper than what the agency provided as well. I ended up having breakfast and dinner on the last day at CasaCarpeDM which was great and cheap as well. Fehr also gave me some INCREDIBLE recommendations on the last day I was there. I ended up going to the "middle of the world" and Fehr was able to get me a driver to take me there and drop me off at every location and tourist site up there and the driver was there every time I was done at each location which made it a lot easier than an uber or lyft. She also mentioned going to Casa Agave which is an incredible tequila museum and bar which was an unbelievable recommendation. All in all, I had a great time staying at CasaCarpe and I would definitely stay there again if I go to Quito, Ecuador!

The hostal is really well located. The team - Fher, Cathy and the other girls - are really nice, friendly and helpful. We had to go to the hospital because my boyfriend was sick and the called quickly a cab, sent us to a good hospital. The manager of the hotel came to visit us at the hospital and was always available for anything. As well, they are so great organizing trips for their guests. We will go back there for sure if we go back to Quito.

We stayed at the hostel prior to our G adventures tour. The staff were lovely, friendly and so helpful. The room was basic but as expected for the price. Location was good also and they booked extra tours for us as well. Good Wi-Fi service and option of dinner as well
