Sympathetically restored historic building with royal connections. Superbly well maintained gardens with various short walking routes provided. We stayed in a suite which was large, tastefully furnished (apart from a slightly odd table that was a 1980's repro) with a huge 4 poster bed which had am excellent mattress on it. Staff were in the main very efficient if maybe slightly on the aloof side of things. (not a problem to us though) We ate in the restaurant which was quite excellent. This place quite rightly is known for its dining experience. Whilst perhaps on the more expensive side, we could not however fault it. Couple of minor things would of made our stay near perfect. As always the main question (for us) is will we be back, and the answer is a firm yes.

Beautiful place with fabulous food and accommodation. Came here for a special treat for our wedding anniversary and it was a truly memorable stay. The Hall and gardens are magnificent and maintained to a really high standard. The food was quite exceptional. Everyone on the team we met was lovely and couldn’t do enough to make us feel more welcome.

We had a fantastic overnight stay which was a wedding gift. From the moment we arrived we loved every minute. The staff are wonderful and the hotel and grounds fabulous. We were in the Hanson suite which was simply superb and had biggest bed I've seen. We had the tasting menu and every course was delicious and beautifully presented. As good as any Michelin meal we gave ever had. Would love to return one day and the spring saver deal is definitely worth it.

We stayed for two nights in the twin room with taster menus on both nights. As soon as we walked in very friendly welcome, showed to our room which was spacious and clean overlooking the beautiful gardens (which we had a lovely walk around) and we even had patio with tables and chair, unfortunately couldn’t use coz as weather wasn’t brilliant. The staff were wonderful very attentive and friendly couldn’t do enough for you, never been called ladies and madam so many times in our life! The two taster menus were absolutely amazing and waiting on staff were great and told you exactly what you were having. Overall an absolutely wonderful stay’!!

My wife and I stayed in the Hanson Suite for four nights in Sep 23 and the whole experience was excellent. We were greeted by Dawn on Reception who could not have been more helpful and friendly throughout our visit. A very comfortable room and bed. Breakfast was very good. All the staff we encountered during our stay were excellent. The grounds of the hotel were also very interesting. We didn’t dine at the hotel but had three evening meals at The Bay Horse Inn which is just a few minutes walk away which was also very good. We will definitely stay again and highly recommend.

We had a wonderful stay recently at Goldsborough Hall and had their tasting menu with wine pairing and a lovely breakfast the following morning. The staff were very attentive and knowledgable, we were also fortunately enough to meet the owner in the gardens who was lovely. The tasting menu was seasonal and the wine pairings very well matched to each course, our waitress had an in-depth knowledge of each dish and it’s matching wine, we felt really well looked after by her and would happily visit again just for this. We stayed in one of the large, well appointed rooms in the main house and had a lovely stay - the bed was huge! I would happily recommend Goldsborough Hall to anyone.

We were invited by a group of friends to visit Goldsborough Hall for dinner, and an overnight stop. We only live 20 minutes drive from the Hall but have never been there before, despite living locally since 1999. On this occasion one of our friends had spotted a special offer of the chefs tasting menu, and an overnight stop for a special promotional price. The Hall is beautiful, and rarely for this year, we had great weather on our arrival at 6pm, so the grounds and the buildings positively shone in the evening sun. A good start. We checked in, and went to our room, taking in the wonderful reception rooms in the place as we did so. Preparations for a wedding (to held the following day) were in process as we walked to our bedroom, and I can imagine that it would be truly memorable to hold a wedding here. Our room was spacious, modern and very comfortable. We repaired to the bar, and spent a very enjoyable hour or so drinking and chatting in the fine surroundings as our group (of 10) assembled from all corners of Yorkshire. The tasting menu was fabulous, a real showcase for what the chef can do. Far too much wine was consumed, so difficult for me to remember all the dishes due to a self inflicted memory loss. But it was hugely enjoyable, creative and very very tasty. We are minded to go back as a couple. It gave us a real sense of the chef's abilities, and it would be nice to think that this extended to an a la carte menu, but I can't see one on the website. Despite their usefulness as a guide to the chef's competence, I do find tasting menus to be a little 'unsatisfying' - it is just a personal view, and I'm sure others would diasgree. But I guess my thoughts are, look you've proved your point, this was an excellent way to sample your wares, but I'd now like to see your skill applied to a full menu where I can choose what I want to eat. Maybe I missed the a la carte on the website. To the next morning with most of us nursing slightly sore heads, and an excellent breakfast which was included as part of the package. So, all in all a great experience, which left me wanting more. This is, I guess, just as it should be.

We have visited Goldsbrough Hall many times since we met over the last few years. Always for a special occasions. We have been in nearly all of the bedrooms. All were excellent. Not had the room with the bath in the window overlooking the parkland yet. Maybe later this year. We always have the taster menu which is always extremely good. TB
