Casa Dei Delfini

The room was simply amazing! The building itself is of unique venetian architecture, in the heart of the old town. The location is perfect to explore the old town of Rethymnon and close to bars, taverns, restaurants, local shops etc. We opted for the breakfast option and we highly recommend it. Overall, we had an amazing time there, the owners are really friendly, kind and helpfull.

This wonderful small hotel is run by mother and son Katrina and Konstantinos. I had a room on the ground floor that even had its own well. That’s right, a well. Instead of filling it in when they were renovating the building, they put lights inside so you could see right down to the water and then a thick glass top which was padlocked for safety. There was also another well in the lobby. The breakfast was very good and there were new delights every day. The location was very central and Rethymno was easy to find your way around. It is car free which made exploring very easy. Katherine even rode her bike to the hotel to walk me up to the waiting taxi at 5.45am on the morning I left. You don’t get that sort of service in big hotels.

Where to start…. 1. Internet-Kept knocking us off, we work online 2. No hot water 2nd morning had to call since there is no one at the one little desk most of the time so if you are going to go then you better get their cell number 3. No security at night; I did not see where the listing said one must use a key to get in after say 8pm, and there is no attendant anywhere until after 8:30am 4. Ran out of toilet paper last day, no one around to replenish. Had to hold it in… 5. Room not cleaned (bathroom floor had same dirt for 4 days) but towels were replaced, garbage taken out and beds made 6. Coffee maker didn’t function first day -they say you can get breakfast but we never saw from where no did we see anyone eating or drinking coffee 7. When we arrived, the safe was locked (not shown around when we were introduced to the room). When we tried to open, it set off a continuous beeping. Since Nono e was at the front desk, fortunately we had a cell number; issue was rectified in terms of stopping the beeping, but we could not use the safe until the next day So, not one of best experiences. The woman was very sweet, however the young man was not very empathetic

We absolutely loved staying here! The location is superb, the owners are incredibly nice and the room was amazing! Everything was in perfect order, very clean and neat! We will definitely come back here!!!

Beautifully kept small boutique hotel (9 rooms) in the heart of Rethymnon old town. Stayed here for 6 nights and from arrival to leaving, the owners (mam & son ) were exceptionally friendly and helpful nothing was a problem to them. They organised the taxi and even helped with the suitcases to and from the taxi. The hotel is only 5 mins walk from where the taxi drops you off and Konstantinos (son) was there to show us the way on arrival. Breakfast was traditional with eggs fried/scrambled or soft boiled offered and there was plenty of choice with ham, cheese, yoghurt, fruit and unlimited fruit juice, Tea and Coffee. There are so many bars/restaurants and shops within walking distance from the hotel so if mobility is an issue there is plenty choice on the doorstep. The beach is about a 15/20 minute walk and the marina about 10 mins once you navigate your way around the many alleyways that lead to the main promenade area which is lined with bars and restaurants, our preference was given to the many lovely restaurants located within the alleyways especially Stavros restaurant and our favourite Erofilli restaurant with a beautifully blossomed tree outside. I would highly recommend this hotel and the old town centre for a visit for at least 2/3 days as there is so much to see and do with many trips around the island at reasonable costs. My only little grumble would be the room we stayed in was limited to storage space for our clothing but this did not spoil our lovely stay at Casa dei Delfini.

The hotel is amazing. The location is also perfect. The rooms are very cozy and comfortable, clean and perfectly decorated. Konstantinos and his mother are really very nice and helpful persons. We enjoyed is very much and we will definitely come back to this Hotel!

We enjoyed our stay. The hotel is in a good location, has a good breakfast, and all the staff were very pleasant. The only thing that would have been approved was if we had a hot water in the shower. We tried showering in the morning and evening and it kept being cold.
