The whole experience was disappointing. Its pretty much self service which doesnt match with what i would expect for the price. The chateau and room was beautiful but unfortunately that was the only good point. The four poster bed looked great, but every slight movement the bed creaked and made noise. We didnt sleep at all. The room was poorly thought out as there was no fridge or any wine glasses (strange as its a wine chatuea). Also the wine shop was closed at 11am which is check out time. It closed as we walked out the front door. WIFI was terrible and the breakfast was self service and very limited. No one asked if we wanted coffee and as someone who is gluten free the choice was limited. Overall the experience was poor and noy very good value for money.

Room was full of mosquitos. No screens on windows(which were open) when we checked in. Cobwebs in corners of walls, behind bedpost. Breakfast was mediocre.

Chateau Fombrauge was our base for a short visit to the Saint Emilion wine region. It was elegant, private, and quite but still very close to the village and other surrounding villages. There are only a few rooms. Our suite was huge and included a small salon, bedroom, and large bathroom. An armoire provided ample storage. There was one other guest for only one night, so we had the house mostly to ourselves. There are many interesting objects to view and books about the area to read. Breakfast was served in the dining. Not too informal but not stuffy either. Quiet elegance is a good description. There was an assortment of pastries, cheeses, and meats. You could also order eggs. Highly recommended.

The chateau and grounds are beautiful and well kept. The wine making tour was informative and fun. We stayed in the Cadran Suite which we would highly recommend, as it includes a private bathroom and is located away from the other rooms of the hotel. The breakfast was served family style in the dining room, and was a nice way to visit with other guests while keeping your schedule flexible. The wine was also delicious! The close proximity to the village of St. Emilion and the reasonable price made this one of our most memorable stays.

Chateau Fombrauge was such an incredible and authentic experience. The chateau and surrounding vineyard was beautiful, and our room was perfect. Stephanie was very communicative and offered us ample support on how to access the property and our room since we arrived late. Breakfast was also delicious, with an assortment of local cheeses, meats, coffee, fruit and pastries. 10/10 would recommend staying!

There is no reason why this Chateau does not offer world class services that are in sync with the location, reputation and beauty. No proper reception, staff and housekeeping is unexplicable. No nice bedsheets or towels is also mot reasonable. And at least a concierge service could be provided.
