We have visited Roffy several times over the years and its strength was always fact it was a family-run campsite where you felt the visitor was first. We have loved Roffy over the years and it is important to our family. Obviously change happens and with a big company like Romanee you expect corporate change but some of the standards have slipped so far that it is on the verge of being a health and safety issue. This really needs to be addressed. Some of the issues The caravan was not clean on arrival. This is the second year in a row this has happened. We had one of the premium vans and would have expected higher standards. The toilets in the mobile in particular had not been cleaned since the people in the van before us left - that was clear. Also the floor was filthy. I had to spend 2 hours at the start of our holiday cleaning it myself. The deck was also not clean - very mouldy and covered in leaves. The pool needed cleaned and had a film of mould and mildew over the sides. As an asthma sufferer this is not good for people's health. The trees have become so overgrown by some of the cabins it means the deck is covered in mould as they get no sunshine, and becomes extremely slippy when wet. Suggest a gentle pruning of trees right next to cabins so more sunlight gets in. Dog Poo - I know the French have different standards generally to this, but it is ridiculous that people in the premier vans allow their dogs to run around pooing right next to people's cabins and on paths, and guess what did not pick it up. We don't think dog owners should be allowed in the premier and exclusive cabins. Eurocamp has a rule with this, that dogs are only allowed in the lower-end cabins which seems a sensible option. Romanee also need to make the rules clearer to people on their campsites with dogs, that dogs have to be on a leash all the time and that excrement has to be picked up. How about also providing dog poo bags in cabins with an extra notice in cabins saying owners will be fined if reported. Little kids will come and play in these areas after dog owners have left and could go blind as a result of this. Something has to be done about this. I have never seen so much dog excrement on a campsite. The restaurant and bar openings were sporadic, communication was bad about when it was open and not, and some of the things on the menu were frozen (frozen fish). We did have a couple of better meals though as well. Hopefully this will be addressed as priority for next year as you are losing money with such a badly run operation. We know tons of people had to eat at the bistro in the village and at the restaurant in nearby Carlux as the restaurant was either closed or they said was fully booked but when we looked there were just a handful of people. Constant strimming - this was a nightmare. So noisy on a daily basis usually when trying to have your breakfast or lunch. Why not leave this until the season has finished or in the afternoon when most

We have been going to Roffy for 34 years and unlike the previous reviewer have noticed many changes. Our visit was at the same time and found the shop very poorly stocked. The fresh food area was shut. The restaurant closed several times and had a very limited menu - the plat du jour was salmon for almost our entire visit! I rely on a small mobility scooter which can’t manage the steps to the bar, shop and restaurant so I always had to go the long way round feeling I was using the tradesman’s entrance. The steps to the cabin are very steep without a handrail awkward for disabled, young children and the elderly. Having said all that we have booked next year in the hope of improvements - it’s still lovely and we meet lovely people and the surroundings can’t be beaten!

We have visited this Campsite on several occasions since 1997, and we were pleasantly surprised to find that little had changed since the new owners, Romanee', had taken over the complex. We had a 12 night stay during the first two weeks of September, and, although technically 'out of season' we found that the services & facilities, although a little restricted, were fine for our stay. The wonderful pool was availble from 10.00am to 9.00pm each day, the Shop, (Albeit, with limited stock), was open each day. We ate in the restaurant on two occasions and the food was of a very high quality. Without exception the staff were very friendly and helpful. It would seem that we stayed on the site at the same time as the previous, negative, reviewer and we simply do not recognize her comment's? My initial re-action was that she possibly reviewed another site by mistake?

A sad and very frustrating experience. We have been coming here for 22 years and loved it! The only positive thing to say was the caravan was well-appointed. Otherwise, the restaurant, bar and shop were open spasmodically, the chef left as he was unhappy with the new management and the pool was left to fend for itself. 3 working umbrellas for 200 sunbeds is not enough nor is it great management to leave the pool full of leaves. I know the week we were there was classed as low season but does that really mean we weren't entitled to good service? The staff were young and apparently unsupervised but probably did the job they were paid for. However, during their time off, it was a bit annoying when they became rowdy in the children's play area and in the pool area. We obviously won't be returning or trying any other Romanee site. They are obviously not bothered.

We enjoyed our stay very much, we particularly liked the friendly staff that does everything to make you feel comfortable. For the amount of sites this campsite feels very cosy. Nice old buildings around the pool that were transformed into bar & restaurant.

Very busy campsite, till late at night! Nice for teenagers. Poor sanitary facilities and very unprofessional in the restaurant. The pool and slides are ok, nice for kids. Cozy evenings at the bar. The shop is small and expensive, you can order bread in the evening for the next morning.

We have visited this site for 30+ years and through several different owners. It is a very special place to us and we hope to continue to support its success. Overall, we had a lovely holiday. The accommodation is most definitely superior to the old eurocamp/Roffy vans that we used to stay in and it was in excellent condition when we arrived. The staff also completed a mid stay clean which was done efficiently and to a high standard. The area is beautiful and we enjoyed the location of our plot. The new premium neighbourhood on the middle level is well thought out and designed too. The new sports area is excellent and our kids loved it. The play parks at the top of the site could do with some investment as are getting a bit tired. Our kids also very much enjoyed the games room. The swimming pool has been recently upgraded and is an excellent facility. However, the top step to get out of the back pool must have broken during our stay and was not repaired, left with sharp edges sticking out the side which I did cut my leg on. There was some green algae on the edges of the water slides which would have been easily remedied had it been power washed. The newer poolside area was clean and tidy. The older, monoblocked areas of the pool patio were not well tended and had weeds and moss growing out of them. Overall the site grounds were not as well tended as we have been used to in previous years. Our van had long grass growing up above the step onto the decking meaning we had to walk through long grass to get into our accommodation which was not pleasant. I should say though that when we asked for it to be cut, they did do this promptly. The staff were all, for the most part, extremely friendly and welcoming and made their best efforts to give good service. Particular praise to Alan in the bar/restaurant who worked very hard at all times we witnessed him and was very customer focused. However, perhaps because this was a new team, they were slightly lacking in direction and organisation. Often customers would wait longer than necessary at the bar because only one person was serving despite there being several staff members present but ignoring customers to do other things. It was a shame, especially given the big increase in the cost of a stay at the site, that not all facilities were available to guests who stay in the first and into second week in July. Only in our last few days did the shop counter have patisserie and deli options. Also only in our last few days did we notice anything being done/organised for the kids. There were theme nights organised but pizza night was something of a letdown so we didn’t attend the paella one. I believe the site manager did take action to remedy the situation after pizza night. Speaking of pizza, we were disappointed to see that the pizzas are now frozen and unfortunately didn’t compare to the pizzas of old. The burgers, however, were absolutely delicious as always. We ate once in the restaurant and very much enjoye

Beautiful place, peaceful and quiet, like we wanted. The accommodation is spacious and well equipped. Swimming pool is ideal and offers plenty of space. Easy access to several tourist attractions nearby. WiFi was not available in the accommodation, which could easily be solved by placing some more receivers, but besides that great place to stay!!

Its a shame they have put so many new chalets on the top level as now everyone can see into everyone's chalet and the parking is a good walk away - but the site is still beautiful even if the family caring atmosphere has now gone
