This is a very tardy review of our stay at Borgo di Colleoli. We spent a week there in May 2023 and can't wait to go back. This historic estate has several buildings and you can feel the history as you walk through them and on the grounds. The resort is well appointed and easy to get to; about an hour from Florence or Pisa and right in the middle of Tuscany. You are surrounded by beauty and every view is stunning. The staff are amazing! Not only did they help organise a car and driver to pick us up at the Pontedera Train Station and deliver us to the resort, they also helped us rent a car. The car was delivered to the resort and we then returned it to the rental lot in Pisa when we flew out. Jacopo and Jakob at reception deserve a special thanks as they were extremely helpful and very knowledgeable. These two gentleman were wonderful, helping organise everything from our rental car, to reservations at area restaurants and wineries and suggestions on villages to explore. Every request was met with a smile and it was such a lovely treat to get to know these two young men and learn a little about them and their home. In the months prior to our visit, we peppered them with questions and they were quick to get back to us with answers and suggestions. Dennis, the Karma rep, was a friendly chap and we appreciated that he wasn't pushy. We have encountered other reps who could learn by his example. Dennis organised an evening of cocktails and nibbles for Karma owners in the library and we enjoyed chatting with everyone. It was a nice change of pace and made us feel very welcome. We had an amazing two room apartment on the upper floor in the main building. This building also housed the library and the main restaurant. Everything was well appointed and we were very comfortable. The library was a great place to relax and we enjoyed an evening there playing records, drinking wine and getting to know other guests. The bed in our room was great and we slept like babies. Our apartment also had a nice sitting area in the main room and in the bedroom, both which we utilised on quiet nights in. As this was a historic building there were some quirks but nothing worse than the room phone not working. If we needed something, we either called reception using WhatApp or walked down to the office. We had a refrigerator which was handy after stopping by a local market for some nibbles and drinks. Our room also had both a shower and a large spa which was great for soaking in after our long daily walks. There was a coin operated washing machine and dryer available for guests to use on site. As we were traveling for a few weeks, we were grateful to have these available. There are two pools on site, however, we didn't use these. They looked nice and other guests seem to enjoy them. Breakfast was included with our stay and it was plentiful and quite enjoyable. There was a blueberry tart at breakfast that I still think about and wish I had asked for the recipe! It was that

My experience at Karma Borgo di Colleoli was truly unforgettable. Located just a short 30-minute drive from Pisa and an hour from Florence, the resort's prime location made it easy to explore some of Tuscany's most iconic destinations. Upon arrival, I was struck by the resort's stunning sunset views. The warm colors of the sky complemented the lush greenery and rolling hills that surrounded the property, making for an idyllic and peaceful setting. The resort itself was a joy to stay at. Our apparement is very cozy. Swimming pool wasn’t open yet (1st week of April). After a long day visiting, the library music room makes everyone to relax and unwind. One of the highlights of our stay was the exceptional service provided by the staff. From check-in to check-out, every staff member we encountered was friendly, helpful, and went above and beyond to ensure our stay was perfect. Overall, I would highly recommend Karma Borgo di Colleoli to anyone looking for a peaceful retreat in the heart of Tuscany. The resort's location, amenities, and exceptional service make it the perfect place for a family vacation or romantic getaway.

We visited Karma Borgo Di Colleoli for my wifes 60th birthday. From the moment we got there we were welcomed. the resort itself is beautiful, an old Olive oil factory that has been converted. The views are amazing and the ambience is so relaxing. Dennis, the Karma rep was very helpful with information on the local area, how to get around, restaurants etc. the reception staff were very helpful, arranging a suprise birthday meal in our own section of the restaurant, and even, despite the weather, managing to arrange a truffle hunt experience for my partners birthday. This was as well as all the other trips they arranged. A big thank you to all the reception team. we must also say thank you to the other Dennis in I Secoli who makes the best coffee in the morning, and also for acting as translator on the truffle hunt. the rooms in the Karma building were beautiful, and the decor matched the style of the building. the library is a very relaxing part. Karma are apparently looking to renovate this building soon, so any minor flaws should be rectified the 2 pool areas are very clean, it looks like the liners have been recently replace so going for a swim was a pleasure (despite the water being a bit chilly) I would definitely recommend a car for getting around as it is well nestled in the Tuscan Hills, but the 25 minute walk into Palaia is no real hardship and there are buses from there to Pontedera if you want to get a bit further without the hassle of driving. I Secoli is nice as a restaurant, however i do think the menu could do with bringing up a notch. not so much in the quality, but in the variation of food. If you do get bored with the menu i recommend I Tigli just next to reception. A family run restaurant with a huge smile for a welcome

This resort is lovely. Beautiful views of the countryside, has 2 swimming poles. The reception staff is very friendly and helpful. Our Maps on our phone took us to the middle of nowhere when we first arrived, called the resort and they gladly guided us to the place. Breakfast was wonderful and so was dinner here at the property. Rooms were a great size. We stayed in RM23 which had a beautiful balcony. Do be prepared to walk to and from your parked car across the street [the resorts parking area]. Overall it was a wonderful stay!

Great location - terrible service. No attention to customers and when asking for timings, we were given a time which was wholly inappropriate. Completely uninterested in being attentive and only interested in talking amongst themselves.

We had a nice stay overall, the setting is lovely and the swimming pools nice. A couple of gripes that should be easy to sort out- there weren’t enough sun loungers around the pool and so on the day we arrived we were laying on the grass! We also had a bit of an issue with moving rooms- we were unable to stay in the same room for our whole stay and understood this and didn’t mind moving. We were told someone would come to help us move our bags in the morning- they didn’t. At 11 o’clock we went to the pool and told the staff that we were there and to come and get us when the other room was ready. They decided not to and decided to just live our stuff for us. I’m sure this was meant to be a nice gesture but we hadn’t agreed this and weren’t completely comfortable with it. Our belongings had all been placed in the new room with the key left in the door and the door unlocked!! And we didn’t know this had happened or what room it had been moved to. Worse still the contents of our fridge had been thrown away!! Including a full bottle of fresh milk and a large unopened bag of chocolates for our children. When we asked where these were we were met with a shrug of the shoulders!! We made it clear that we weren’t happy and a member of staff disappeared into the restaurant and returned with a very small carton of UHT milk! We said that this wasn’t a suitable replacement and again, a shrug of the shoulders. He said he’d see what he could do- that was the last we heard of it! The service appeared great when we checked in and got the little golf buggy to our room but in reality it was a massive let down for a resort like this! And the restaurant??? I’ve written a separate review. It was ok for breakfast, but for dinner? It was awful. The food was poor and the service was extremely bad. The rest sis not good enough ti be in this resort, this needs to change.

We stayed a week in July 2023. Very hot! (can't blame the Borgo). Rooms are varying a lot in size an type, since it its old and very charming buildings that have been renovated. We stayed to adults and two teenagers in a 2 room apartment on the first floor. Very spacious. Well-functioning aircon, we used the kitchen for cocking and good space for storage of luggage. One of the bed was a sofa bed, only about 1,8m long, but with good wide. The rooms in the ground area has own terasse furniture, but there are shared areas to be used by the upper apartments. Staff is very friendly. Anything you need, they will help you. Very good advise about what to do and see int the area. Restaurant on site is ok, but a bit slow in service and more expensive than other Italian restaurants. Right next to the hotel (50 meters from reception) there is another restaurant with great view and more "normal" prices. And 2,5 km away is the village Palaia with multible restaurants, including at Michellin recommended restaurant. The hotel restaurant is cosy though, and it serves a high quality breakfast at EUR 15M per person (or you can just buy coffee and a croissant, if you want less). Easy to drive to Pisa, Lucca and lost of charming villages. Two pool area. One more busy and the other calmer with a toddler's pool as well. No children playground, but kids are welcomed. Generally civilized guest. No party or noise at all.
