The room with view over the Rhine met our expectations. The wellness center was disappointing. The steam bath had no steam, the pool was very dirty around the edges, the floor was slippery, and there was only one changing cabin for all visitors. The drinks menu in the restaurant had a considerable choice of wine, but minimalist non-alcoholic drinks. At breakfast, the jams were infested with drosophila.

Our favourite hotel on our 3 week trip staying at 10 different hotels. It was a nice break close to the middle of our trip. The spa services with a pool, steam room, and two saunas, as well as massage services allowed us to unwind. We were greeted very warmly by the front staff and given a tour while we were waiting for our room to be ready. The two restaurants were very nice. The included breakfast was great and the room was perfect. We stayed in the Deluxe room with a Rhine view. This put us in the back building. The back building also has their own front desk. The room was quite large and had nice decor. We wish we stayed here longer. The castle ruins are not included by only cost 6 euro to enter. Our only difficulty is the shuttle from the hotel down to Sainkt Goar does not operate everyday, only weekends during the fall and winter months. Not hard to walk, but does suck for luggage. There are taxi services though.

The facade and location are beautiful. The spa is very nice. However, the rooms are poorly lit and ventilated. There is a smell that is a cross of humidity and cleaning liquids. The bathroom is a slippery trap. The restaurant is average and overpriced.

I can with certainty say that I would not recommend this hotel at all. The view is good, that’s about it. It seemed the weren’t too happy with children at this location too. The service is abysmal, we had to call several times for an extra bed and by checkout they charged us 40 euros extra for it. Nowhere else on our vacation has the hotel done this. No room at the restaurant, even though it didn’t seem that so many people were staying here. Checkout is at 11 o’clock, but at 1020 they started cleaning the room so the family couldn’t get in and use the bathroom after breakfast. Please, stay any where else than here, there are so many nice places in the vicinity. Boppard, for example, we think is a nicer town. But if you stay in St. Goar, stay somewhere else than here.

Arrived by bicycle, which is a bit of a challenge as the approach road is 1km at 17%. However that's where castles were built and gives the location fantastic views. Warm welcome and we were able to get into our very nice room with balcony at 3pm which was nice. It was very warm, ca 35C, so a bit disappointing that there was no aircon, but were able to open the door to balcony and room did cool down slowly. Everything else was of best quality and spotlessly clean. Only downside for me was absence of black out curtains/blinds / shutters, it's a personal thing as I'm a light sleeper. Pool was very nice as were drinks on the terrace, had an excellent meal in the main restaurant, again with fabulous views of the Rhein and Sankt Goar. Breakfast was a fabulous spread. Not cheap but a high standard hotel with great staff. Had a problem with the bill, partly my fault, partly the Hotels, however a few emails meant everything was suitably and courteously sorted.

Really nice location, the view from the restaurant and terrasse is breathtaking. Room was hot and without AC but when you open the window there was a lot of wind which fixed the issue and there was no bugs. Food at the main restaurant was expensive but okay with the exception of the dessert that were to be honest bad.

Unique and beautiful property. Expensive to get back and forth from town. Their restaurant was VERY expensive too. Beautiful place, gorgeous rooms and great staff.

Best place. Great rooms, great view. Dinner was not so good, pick a less costly option in town. Overpriced and staff was stressed. Food ok. Breakfast was fantastic. Great place overall. Stayed early May.
