Inn of the Turquoise Bear

Just returned from a fabulous stay at the Inn of the Turquoise Bear. The staff were welcoming and very attentive. Innkeeper Caitlin was exceptional, very personable and accommodating. We stayed in the Shaman room which was spacious, well appointed and enjoyable with an in-room wood-burning fireplace. The area had received several inches of snow the day before our arrival, and this added a unique sense of beauty to the entire property. All of the pathways and common areas were well- maintained to ensure easy movement. Our bed was spacious and very comfortable with luxurious sheets. We did not rent a car and found the property nicely situated within walking distance to Canyon Road and the downtown area at the Plaza. We did Uber a couple of the evenings due to the extremely chilly weather, but was very economical due to the close proximity to restaurants and shops. Breakfast served daily in the beautiful gathering place was always a joy. There was a great variety with yogurt, fresh fruit, hot coffee and an array of juices. Then delicious choices of Huevos Rancheros, blue corn pancakes & pumpkin ginger waffles. Yum! We look forward to returning to Santa Fe in the warmer months, and will definitely look forward to returning to the Turquoise Bear. Thank you for your amazing hospitality!

We have stayed at the Inn multiple times. The Inn is awesome. It is my favorite place to stay in Santa Fe. The grounds are amazing and the breakfast is always delicious. The location is convenient and is walkable to the plaza. Each room is unique and comfortable.

We had never been to Sante Fe or (obviously) the Inn of the Turquoise Bear. From the minute we pulled into the parking lot we felt as if we had stepped into a peaceful paradise. We checked in and were shown to our very large room (O’Keefe) and were amazed. This historic property is VERY well maintained. We learned a lot by talking to the owner as well as reading a short book that outlines the history. Breakfast each morning is extensive and delicious. Wine happy hour is at 5 each day. We were able to visit with the Innkeeper as well as other guests. We felt like we were in a comfy living room! We visited downtown Sante Fe, Canyon Road art district, Los Alamos, Sante Fe Cooking School, etc. We also took the Turquoise Trail from Albuquerque to Sante Fe and ate lunch in Madrid. We will need to come back to further explore Sante Fe and we will DEFINITELY be staying at this Inn.

What an absolutely wondering experience. As someone who is picky about noise at night and cleanliness, this might be my top inn of all time. The room was quiet and cozy (fireplace!) and everything felt fresh. The morning breakfast was amazing and learning all about the fellow travelers was a fun way to meet people. You can walk to town, or easily park your car on property. An absolute wonderful stay and we wish it was closer just to stay again!

Beautiful inn with friendly and helpful owners and inn keeper. Super location. If we return to Santa Fee, we will visit again. The common table made for a great experience. The other guests were all interesting and the conversation was refreshing.

I went the end of March for 4 nights to celebrate my birthday with my two adult children and their families. We were six altogether in 3 rooms. All I can say it is worth every penny. these people go alll out to please their guests including acting as an uber driver when necessary and taking the knots out of jewelry necklaces. The breakfasts are so yummy and delicious and out of this world and the wine is delicious also and the little snacks all day long. Each room has a fireplace if you want. Everyone there aims to please and the entire grounds are pristine. There are a few things in the tiny gift shop to buy and they give out water bottles with the name of the place. I can't rave enough about the Inn of the Turquoise Bear. Dan and Alex and the rest of the folks who run the place kudos to you all because everyone of the guests are extremely happy. When you come there there is a huge turquoise bear out front and we took many a picture there. Thanks again all of you wonderful people who made my 85th birthday so memorable.

It’s been a long time since I stayed at a BNB and I had forgotten at how much it positively adds to the experience. Went to Santa Fe with friends but feel like we made new friends as well, courtesy of our stay here! Every morning, as we enjoyed the wonderful home cooked breakfast around the Inn’s dining table, we talked to the other guests. They were all so interesting and we even got some great day trip ideas! The Inn was so cozy and the staff was incredibly welcoming. Made our stay wonderful.

Wonderful hosts and a cozy ambiance. Our room was clean and well maintained with much attention paid to small details that made our stay very comfortable and relaxing. The kiva fireplace in our room could be challenging to start but our hosts set it up for us every day and even provided s’more kits. We had freshly baked cookies and pecan chocolate pie available in the sitting room. The breakfasts were excellent- my favorite part was the homemade chili sauce which was good on absolutely everything. The property is beautiful especially after a light dusting of snow. Free parking and an easy walk to downtown and museums. Thank you! We look forward to our next stay at the Turquoise Bear.

We enjoyed our stay here so much and would love to come back soon. The staff were all kind and helpful, the morning breakfast and afternoon/evening snacks were yummy, the bed was comfortable and our room was romantic and cozy with character and unique artwork. We loved that the inn’s location is quiet and away from the busy plaza (only a couple of minutes drive).
