As a family of four with children aged 10 and 14, we had a pleasant stay at Hohenwart. The food was great, and the breakfast buffet was extensive with a cook-to-order station. The hotel has two wellness areas, one for adults and one for children, and the view over Meran is stunning. However, we found the kids' pricing a bit confusing. Even though the children stayed in a separate room together, both kids were charged the price of a "single stay in a double room", which was €50 more than the adults. Although the 10-year-old received a 60% discount on this elevated price, we still don't understand why the 14-year-old had to pay a "single-stay in double room" price. Comment of the Hotel: "That is how we do things here, this is normal, and we do it like this since 30 years" Not sure but maybe 30 years ago the kids would have slept on the foldaway sofa instead of their own room.

The hotel is located in a stunning place, surrounded by vineyards and hills with excellent views over the valley and the city of Merano. The hotel was built in several stages, which is noticeable - there is no single style, and all the areas and rooms are different. There are modern parts, but they are still very aged. The hall and restaurant are decorated with gruesome dead animal corpses. The restaurant has good food and friendly staff. The worst thing about this hotel is the reception. At the booking stage, reception could not make a reservation without errors; they only sent a valid booking on the fifth attempt. On arrival - very cold greeting and minimal information. During the stay, all requests were lost at reception. We had to wait two days for a different pillow. But the worst that happened here was that the staff did not bring the cake I ordered and paid for in advance (as a surprise for my loved one) during the birthday dinner. I have never seen such oversight in a hotel before. No one even apologised... It was the worst experience of the year. This hotel and service are not worth your money...

The hotel is beautiful, the view from the room breathtaking but the food beats it all. Dinner was exquisite and we all agreed that we would love to marry the chef 😉 the staff was friendly throughout our stay. Everything was just perfect.

Che dire, questo Hotel ti offre tutto ciò che promette. Struttura curatissima e cibo ottimo. E lo staff? Mai visto tanta cordialità. La piscina a sfioro sotto il cielo, non perdetevela. Un piccolo appunto ...metterei (nell'armadio) dei cuscini più rigidi per chi non ama le piume. Appena mi sarà possibile ci tornerò.

Wir verbrachten hier eine sehr ruhige erholsame Wellnessauszeit. Das Zimmer war groß und modern, sehr sauber und gemütlich. Die Bettwäsche war sehr kuschelig. Das Personal war überaus freundlich und hilfsbereit, das Essen hervorragend. Der Wellnessbereich hat alles, was man braucht und vom Solebecken auf dem Dach hat man eine traumhafte Aussicht.
