Selfoss Apartments

Selfoss|0.53km from city center
We have been sleeping in this private room, which is owned by the Homonimo Hostel (the hostel is at 28, the rooms and apartments in a little desolate building a few civic numbers later) for two nights. At the beginning I had a good impression: at the reception a very nice girl welcomed us and we found our room, the 5th, small but comfortable and colorful, the tight but nice bathroom, with a stone-coated shower. There was TV, furniture was new, and above the furniture in the bed side of the tea and soluble coffee, sugar and cookies, boiler and cups. The problems emerged hand by hand. First the main light: a light-lighter, dangerously loading if activated and scaryly sparkling if lighted. Then the door of the bathroom, which is a wooden table flowing on a pad: there was no hook at the base, and so we decided not to close it, for fear that it could come out of the cardinals. Then the shower: the hook to which the microphone was hanging was broken and to wash it needed to keep the microphone with the hand; there is no bathroom or courtesy set (only a savon pack on the outer laundry); the door of the shower is not closed well, Because it should be kept by a windscreen, but it has never been attached well; the shower plate has not the edges high enough, so if it comes to deposit too much water, it will be transborded and ends all on the floor of the bathroom and the room. In addition, for the two days of stay, we had only a headwear, and I understand that we could not expect a luxury hotel, but even a hostel. It was sold by them and paid by us as a private room, and it was claimed to have a service at the price, though indeed, which was paid. Problems like the shower are not justified, even in a hostel. I am very sorry.

Lambastadir Guesthouse

I grew up around farms in Kentucky and felt right at home here. The farm proper is up a small hill and the guests stay in a modern bunkhouse down below. The sitting area is cozy and comfortable adorned with many plants. The room itself was quite clean and the shower worked well. Blackout curtains were helpful and the bed comfortable. Breakfast was ample with a large variety of items such as cereals, breads, homemade jam, fruits, cheeses and meats. You could even make your very own waffles. Great scenic location just outside of Selfoss, but not too far to be able to quickly drive into town for dinner for supplies. Beware, there is a speed camera along the way. Overall, a very pleasant and safe stay. I'd definitely stay again.

The location is very good and very easy to find, opposite the gas station, supermarket and KFC, below is the 66 store, behind the house is the free parking lot. We stayed in a suite with four beds and a sofa bed, but we only lived three people, it seems a bit extravagant, hahaha. The bathroom is also very large and very comfortable to use. The kitchen facilities are also very complete, although we are not useful, but it feels good. The young girl who checked in was not experienced enough (but she was really good-looking, blond). The first time I met people who were very poor in English, so I was tired when I first started communicating. Although I understood it later, I still feel it. I suggest that the English spoken by the little girl can be simple, or take out some English tips early (we will find papers with English tips later)
Hotel Grimsborgir by Keahotels

Overall we loved our stay at Grimsborgir, but I would like to begin by mentioning a few aspects that can be improved. When we arrived the room seemed dusty, as if not used by other guests for a long time and then not freshened up before we arrived. This improved after the first night. The cleaning staff also made a few mistakes like taking towels without replacing them and forgetting items like wiping cloths or cleaning sprays in random places - this happened on 3 out of 6 days. Also the design of the double bed was a bit minimalistic - it did not have a headboard - compared to other double beds from less expensive rooms in your hotel this is a mild disappointment. Overall we were very happy with our stay in your hotel - we had everything we needed and we would gladly stay with you again. I just have one question which I would be very grateful if you could answer me. What kind of mattress did the double bed have? We found it to be extremely pleasant to sleep on and I would like to buy one if you could tell me where from. Thank you for your hospitality and looking forward to staying with you again in the future.

Hotel Selfoss

Great location and nice view from our king room with river view. Bed was comfy and room was very clean. Desk personnel were exceptionally helpful and friendly. I can't comment on the value, as it was part of a package tour as prices were not broken out of total, but we would definitely stay there again. We had prepaid for breakfast, which was excellent, but we did not otherwise dine at the hotel restaurant, so can't comment on that.
South Central Guesthouse

We have been set in the independent apartment that can host 4 people comfortable, with a large area day and two rooms (one double and one double). Very clean and provided everything. I recommend that we come with the expenses already made because it is very isolated. To reach it, a deviation from the main road is expected, and we chose it because the morning after we had planned the excursion to Landmannalaugar, because it is along road 30 and therefore strategic position to reach the area.
