We were so disappointed in the hotel reception. We gave him money to book a bus to Phnom Penh (requires a 45-seat car). But he tricked us, picked us up in a tuk-tuk from our hotel, then took us to a roadside location (not the bus station). Stuffed our luggage and we boarded a bus with only 24 seats, too crowded with goods and a motorbike with a strong smell of gasoline. On the way, we kept picking up / dropping off passengers and it took us 8 hours to reach Phnom Penh. It is so awful! Also, we rented 3 double rooms, but 2 rooms have hot water.

Having stayed here 9 years ago (pre Covid) there has been change like everywhere! The location of the hotel is very near to Pub Street and the room we were in (B08) was at the front of the hotel and especially on Friday and Saturday the music went on into the small hours of the morning! In fairness to the staff they did offer another room. The swimming pool was good and clean. The Staff were excellent with helping to arrange an excursion to Angkor Watt and even to help organise our onward travel and hotel. (5 stars we give there)

Traveled with my wife and adult son and his wife - us in our 50s, them late 20s. Staff was awesome, super friendly and attentive. Had a massage that was wonderful. Location was both good and not so good. It is very close to pub street and the night market. Pub street has great restaurants, bars and clubs. Very vibrant atmosphere. The drawback is the club music volume ramps up about mid flight and goes till about 3AM nightly. We were on the 2nd floor and could hear the constant beat of the music at lte hours. This may bother light sleepers. I put in ear plugs and was fine. Overall this is a wonderful little boutique hotel.

I stayed at garden village for 8 days in December the room was great for the price. The girl at reception recommended Mr Leng as a tour guide and he was an exceptional guide, I went to angkor wat and the floating village with Mr Leng, he's knowledge of the temples in Angkor region was above beyond what I expected. Today we went to see the sunset on Lake tonle sapleg floating village. It was a beautiful afternoon and the was spectacular. Our boat driver got a little wet when he was trying to anchor the boat in perfect spot for the sunset but all part of fun and made for great day.

Pros: The place’s location is not too bad, short walk to pub street and easy to hail Grab tuktuks. There is one girl there that speak some English and very good service. She was very helpful. But mostly we see staff standing around and when we asked for towels it never came. Cons: Our first room was by the pool and it was infested with mosquitoes. Spent the first day googling risks of catching malaria. No repellent was strong enough. Once we requested to go up, the new room was much better. Go for higher levels in general in Siem Reap to avoid mosquitoes, especially do not be near the pool. The pool was dirty but the kids insisted on going in so god help us! I don’t think chlorine is a thing here. The BIGGEST ISSUE for us is cleanliness. It’s ok to be old but not ok to be dirty. Everything was dirty, we have to take out the wipes and clean ourselves. The yellow seats are so disgusting I think my plane seats were more clean. This is one of the dirtiest hotel I’ve ever stayed. The published photo are much nicer than it actually is… :( The pillows… omg if you are already there do not look inside. It’s putrid! Our friend’s room’s shower head was like a single tiny jet stream and the sink overflows. Bath gels in the shower are all empty, it’s just for show. They don’t refill even if you ask. …… This hotel has good potentials but just lack of good management. Channel some Japanese cleaning spirit it will do well! If you want to stay there go for a grand suite on the very top floor. But you need to keep the curtains closed as it gets very hot.
