Days Inn by Wyndham Silver Spring

I have to start off by saying that I'm not familiar with the Silver Spring area, but this was bad. When we arrived there was no one at the desk for 20 min., then in walks a man with a bag and says, "Oh, I had to go get dinner." The lobby was warm but not inviting, no air conditioning on. The desk clerk had no clue how to work out some issue he was having with the computer. This took another 15 min. before I asked what was up (trying to be patient). The man said he didn't know, that the manager would be there soon and that the manager should have already been there. 10 more min. later, I snapped and said when is the manager coming, I have reservations at the Baltimore Aquarium and the man said yes I understand. He got on the phone with someone and started messing with the computer again. Finally, my 2 rooms that I prebooked and prepaid were ready. We drove over to the parking lot near the rooms. They didn't even give us rooms next to each other, one upstairs across the way and one downstairs at the end of the hotel. The hallways stunk of a mildew/moldy smell and pot mixed together. The door was propped open with a traffic cone and no air conditioning in the halls. The doors to the rooms were hard not only to open, but to close and catch hold as you closed them also. Downstairs room had NO phone, working TV remote, fridge, microwave, coffee maker, ice bucket, but it did have 2 beds and a working air conditioning. The bathroom toilet seat was broken so whenever you sat on it it moved around. The curtains had stains on them and the dead bolt on the door was broken. I felt like I was in the twilight zone and wanted to wake up. The upstairs room did have a little more. It had a fridge, coffee maker and iron. When we looked in the fridge, there was a roach (LIVE), so that got closed quickly and not opened again and it was not plugged in. They also had an ice bucket, but no working ice maker on the hotel property. The pillows on all the beds were the size of throw pillows on a couch/sofa. It was honestly a disaster, they need to close down and do a flip on this hotel to make it better because they truly are giving the Wyndham hotel company a BAD reputation. I have stayed at other Days Inn hotels and had pleasant experiences but this was lower than low. I wish we had taken pictures because I know some of this is hard to believe. From now on pictures, pictures, pictures. NEVER AGAIN SILVER SPRING, SHAME ON YOU!!!!

Asked for a non smoking room. Was told it is non smoking. Went back to the front desk. And was told that’s there best room. My wife is allergic to smoke. Ending up having to go to the hospital because she couldn’t take it in the 5 mins we were there. Plus to make matters worse we seen bugs. This hotel shouldn’t even be in business. There were guys playing dice right outside my door. Some rooms had cardboard on it.

The hotel was felt unsafe and unsanitary. This hotel needs to be revamped or better warnings on the website. After two failed attempts at getting us a clean acceptable room we accepted our fate and just hope there wasn’t bed bugs.

Nothing listed as amenities were in the room. Smoke detector kept beeping. Pillows were horrible. Cheap bedding. Had to ask for more toilet paper. Will never stay there again.

RUN as fast as you can and as far as you can from this place! Would not stay there again! Hey Wyndham, do you really manage this hotel? When last time you did renovate it ? 50 years ago? Pity!

The room door looked to having been kicked in with several areas where the flimsy deadbolt had been pulled out of the screws, tore some of the support wood out of door jamb, etc. the shower water was barely lukewarm. I would not recommend this property to anyone.

I would have given this place negative star or zero if possible. this motel is located in a very ghetto area of DC, not many places to find food around. about the motel itself, very poorly managed, carpet was dirty just by the look, it smelled like vomit and alcohol. power outlets, especially ones by the bed side had loose covers and I easily could have electrocute myself if I wasn't careful. everything was at the lowest minimum possible. no shampoo just a tiny soap bar. not a thick blanket but a very thin (summer type) luckily my heat was working. even though it wasnt cold night but running it all night at 80 degree just made room comfy enough and I'm not easy to get cold. rooms look horrible from outside, like jail cells. wifi was dragging, no breakfast. even coffee that they were supposed to provide at front desk was not ready. I was so horrified by how this room looked and smelled that i actually looked for other places but somehow due to current busy nights at DC there was no other room available. short story, even if this place gives me $500 a night, I would not stay there. VERY BAD place

Once I arrived the room I booked wasn’t available and the staff wasn’t friendly. The room had roaches in the bathroom, carpet had a smell and bed top sheet had stains.

The room with all the furniture was very tight getting from king seize room plus with a disable person. With no microwave very hard to get food and heat it up
