We originally planned to stay at Palatakia in March 2020 but due to the pandemic we had to cancel our reservation. More than two years later we gave it a second try and what else can we say: it was definitely worth the wait! We had such a great time at Palatakia! We made our reservation via e-mail directly with Henri from Palatakia which was very convenient for us. He always replied promptly and was always friendly. Beside that he kindly helped us with occuring questions regarding the planning of the trip or our stay. When we arrived in Kato Drys, which is a small, traditional and very beautiful village, we immediately fell in love with that place. It was the perfect location to calm down and also its a great place for daily trips as every part of the island is not too far away and can be easily reached by car. We also had dinner at the local tavern which is open on Fridays and Saturdays and highly recommendable. However, for other restaurants, supermarkets, gas stations or a bank you have to drive to Lefkara or Skarinou which are very close to Kato Drys (about 10 to 15 minutes away). As already expected from us the renovated village houses of Palatakia were very beautiful. We stayed in the patio with the small pool where the reception is and really loved that place. There are lots of nice little details like plants and decoration in every corner which made us feel like home. Of course, its also very nice to have the pool available. Even though it is rather small it was still great to use it from time to time and to cool down after a hot day in Cyprus. The room with the balcony that we had booked had a great and modern interior and provided more space than expected. Beside that everything was perfectly clean. In comparison with the other rooms, it felt like the perfect option for us. However, as we did not book a room with a kitchen we additionally ordered the breakfast which was even served in our room. It basically was a typical international breakfast but with regularly changing Cypriotic specialities like fruits or cheese. Whenever needed we could also change the time for our breakfast or got a little lunch package on our last day. We would also like to emphasise that everyone from the team around Palatakia, but especially Angeliki, did such a great job in making us feel home and comfortable. Everytime we had a question or a wish or needed anything else they were around and helped us immediately. It was truely a pleasure staying there. So whenever you need a beautiful, calm and welcoming place to stay in the southern part of Cyprus we would highly recommend Palatakia to you.
