Mandraki Village Boutique Hotel

This was the first time we had stayed at Mandraki Village although knew the hotel as some of our family stayed there last year and we were able to join them for a day. That experience decided us to stay ourselves and what a good decision it was. The hotel is perfectly situated for accessing beaches, bars, restaurants and the bus into town and is more peaceful than staying in town. The hotel is very peaceful, no problem in finding a sunbed and the staff were amazing from those on reception, bar and waiting on staff to our cleaner. Our room was a little smaller than we anticipated being a standard room but perfectly adequate. It was cleaned every day by our excellent cleaner. The choice at breakfast is the best we have had in Greece and the food generally very good as are the cocktails. Mandraki Village has become our favourite place to stay on Skiathos

Plentiful and good choices Evening restaurant good food BUT room 501 in Green block was worse than awful So many faults and some attempts at repair others ignored Wobbly toilet seat Main blind to allow the majority of sunshine and brightness in was unable to be opened Air conditioning broken Bedside lamp unable to use as fridge plugged in next to bed - that was noisy in night when switching on / off Lack of power points One actually in lower corner of wardrobe Shower wash not installed in dispenser Basin that won’t hold water when plug in Prides itself on ECO awareness but wasting water to wash and shave Plus many more Said not happy with room within 10 minutes of arrival but told “ what you don’t like our room , it’s big and lovely and sleeps 3 people “ why do I want a room that sleeps 3 when it’s just 2 of us - no rooms available to move to Lovely hotel but NOT in room 501 Green block. I think Green block is in need of refurbishment Pool towels free but beach towels were €5 for 2 If we’d known we could have taken our own Drinks - orange juice , Coke Zero more expensive than a beer - not good when you don’t touch alcohol Miranda was very helpful and hard working. Always happy and very informative about the area Greek evening BBQ and dancing - Mama Mia film evening were excellent

My cousin and I arrived on 4th May for a week, the hotel opened for its summer season on 1st May so except for a live singer on the last night there was no other entertainment. Although we had requested a twin room through Jet2 when we booked 3 months prior we were given a very small room 606, with a double bed which was a massive disappointment, the hotel were aware of our request but couldn't accommodate us, they said they had only been given a few days notice but if a twin room became available during our stay then we could move rooms, this did not happen! When we were shown our room it got worse, the bathroom had an opaque glass door which opened onto the side of the bed, it felt very unprivate. We had not been to Skiathos before, we walked round the resort of Koukounaries via the beach, another disappointment, the beach hadn't been cleaned, there was only one bar open with sunbeds and they were charging 35 Euros for 2 beds and an umbrella. There were quite a few dilapidated hotels on the main road of Koukounaries and not many eateries or hotels open, it was a bit like a ghost town. On a positive note the buses ran frequently into Skiathos Town (3 euros each way) The hotel staff were lovely, the breakfast was varied, the pool area and the grounds of the hotel were very well kept.

The greek tradition of hospitality to strangers is well known but the people at the Mandraki are fantastic. Patient, kind helpful staff without exception. The breakfast covers all tastes and there's lots of it too, you can linger over a coffee and pastry, yoghurt and honey or have bacon and eggs it's all there. I was a bit worried we were far away from Skiathos town but it was an advantage on the bus. Trails nearby to walk, water taxi to Skiathos town, koukounaries and banana beaches, good tavernas plus the on site restaurant and specialist night at the hotel gave us lots of options. Hopefully will get to go back soon.

We just wanted to convey the welcome and care we were shown throughout the 14days we stayed. The room was lovely all with personal balcony with thoughtful touches . We ate at the hotel restaurant most evenings as the food was good with a good range spot choose from. The breakfasts were amazing but I know for us it was just what we fancied at the beginning of the day, hot, cold food, all manner of toppings and fruits on the cereals followed by different breads and pastries/ sweets that changed through the week. We were grateful to have a super market nearby for little extras, the staff there were very helpful to. It was a lovely holiday and we were glad we chose Mandraki.

Mandraki Village is a fabulous small and friendly boutique hotel, having everything you need. A lovely swimming pool with extremely comfortable loungers and nice gardens. They do a weekly BBQ with Greek dancers, great fun. Also had a singer on one night. We came on a BB booking as we like to eat out at the different restaurants. Fabulous cocktails! Served at the hotel bar. Our room was a ground floor room which was overlooking the gardens, comfortable clean and tidy. Good breakfast with plenty of choice from hot and cold continental, cakes, pastries, fruit etc, crepes cooked one day, teas and coffees. The staff here are some of the friendliest and helpful people I’ve come across in a hotel for a long time, special mention to Maria, Miranda and there are several others but sadly I didn’t make a note of their names.. Koukanaries beach a short walk either down the main road or through the scrub land, lovely sandy beach with beds and parasols €15 for two beds and shade. Great bus service, bus stop number 23 across the road from the hotel for getting into Skiathos town, journey took about 25mins. A couple of bars and tavernas along from the hotel, with a several more along the road. We ate at the Big Bad Wolf one evening, food was good and plentiful. Handy small supermarket also next door. A very enjoyable stay and hopefully return. We all had a lovely holiday in Skiathos and visiting Skopelos. Thank you Mandraki for making us feel so welcome.

It’s a lovely, very well curated hotel. The restaurant is very good, especially for the breakfast. The staff is friendly and accommodating. The room is spacious and very nice. A very enjoyable stay. However, if you prefer the beach and swimming in the sea, be prepared to walk 30 minutes to a good beach because the one nearby is just a sea of overpriced sunbeds and crowds.

Booked through *********** around six weeks ago and paid in full 4 weeks prior to arrival. Despite this *********** only notified the hotel on the morning of arrival. This meant the hotel was fully booked. The manager and owner of the he hotel were amazing. We arrived late at night and they upgraded us to a family suite for the first two nights and then placed us in a nice apartment for the rest of our stay. We then had to encounter storm Daniel which meant our flight was cancelled. The management went out of their way to help all the guests and made sure we had accommodation for a further two nights until we could fly home I would like to thank the manager and owner for making sure we had a great stay at the hotel despite the problems caused by *********** Many thanks from Antony and Val

Exceptional hotel, quite . Very happy and helpful people. Would I recommend it, definitely . Really good food, bar extensive. Breakfast very filling and enjoyable. Different events from , momma Mia evening. Greek evening, great. All in all I totally recommend this hotel
