The Canadian host was one of the most inshospitable, unhelpful I have ever met - anywhere in the world. He just sat there while I moved everything from my car to the room on arrival and then back to my car when I left. When I asked for help with the heavy cases (I am 74 years old) he told me he had a bad back....He made no effort to get various guests together in the evenings around the pool and, when I dared to point this out, he accused me of 'complaining' ! He ruined my birthday with his unpleasantness and, when I told him I wanted to move out early, he agreed to the two days notice. He said 'fine, then I will open up the bookings again'. However, when I checked ********** the next day, I discovered that he had not and that the place was advertised as being fully booked! I then texted him to let him know I would still be moving out the next day, would then hand over the keys and let him refund me the R16,100.00 I had already paid in advance for the remaining days at the overpriced rate of R1150.00 per night... After loading up my car (while he sat by the pool!), I handed over the keys and gave him my credit card for the refund. He looked straight at me and asked me 'What's that for?' I simply could not believe it when he told me he wasn't going to refund me. I was dumbfounded. Since then, I have been very unwell and in shock. I now have a lawyer helping me to recover all that money - about £800.00!!! This man, Francis Moran, should NOT be allowed to continue running a guesthouse in ths country.
