We had a wonderful stay at the Melia . Staff were very welcoming. Our room was very comfortable. Good nights sleep great shower tea/coffee tv etc. Breakfast and dinner were varied . Great base for skiing and restaurants all on your doorstep. Hotel had entertainment every night . Would recommend and stay again .

We had a lovely stay at this hotel with our two children. The staff is helpful and friendly, and the location of the hotel is really convenient with a short walk to the main gondola. An especial shout-out to Carlos in Guest Experiences -- he was so kind, and made the stay extra special. One of the main highlights for us was the food, a lovely choice of delicious cold and hot dishes and plenty of fresh salads and fruits -- the strawberries as insane! The only key piece of feedback I do have to the hotel management is that they need to make changes in the running of the spa. Our daughter is an accomplished swimmer, at the age of 7, but was confined to a tiny 'baby pool' and was not allowed to go into the 'adult pool' although she could clearly see this through the glass wall. I saw numerous families struggling with the same restrictions, in the end we chose not to go to the spa, which is such a shame. They really MUST have at least 1-2hrs per day when children are indeed allowed in the large pool. Otherwise a very pleasant and comfortable stay.

Having previously enjoyed staying here for several years for family holidays. We arrived to discover that the pool structure had changed and children under 11 were no longer allowed access anything other than a tiny paddling pool of about 10 cm and a tiny splash area. It’s barely suitable for children of 2-3 never mind up to age of 11. The pools are divided by a glass partition so it would be impossible to supervise a group of mixed aged children. Absolutely 0% family friendly. When I spoke to a manger I was told the main area wasn’t suitable even though we used them in 2022 and 2023. Book the other Meliá which has a proper pool for kids.

We had a great stay. The staff is great and the location is perfect. The room was nice with a great bed and a lovely bathroom (But be aware off the temperature in the shower can change to very hot suddenly). Saying you have a minibar without charge is a joke. 4 soft drinks and 4 water bottles is what you get. The spa- and pool area were to crowdy and did not give any value for our stay. The reception solved our problems with the television. Most of the staff do not speak English. That is a problem if you do not speak a little bit of Spanish. Breakfast buffet is average. We tried the roomservice and it worked perfectly. But when you pay 1.000 euro for 2 nights you expect a higher standard for the breakfast and more free benefits. For a hotel of this standard the price for a room should be 200 euro Per night. Not 500. The only reason why Meliá can overcharge you is because the capacity of hotel rooms is low. It is difficult to find an alternative. But still the price should be more fair so you had the feeling of value for money. The staff deserves 5 stars but overall and mostly because of the price for a room the Meliá Sierra Nevada can only get 2 stars.

Family of 4 staying 4 nights to ski in a family room. I booked this hotel as there was limited choice in this area for somewhere I was willing to stay. It’s completely overpriced for what it is. We paid just under 500 euros per night and the rooms are very very standard . I’m all for paying a lot to get a good hotel but this isn’t worth 500 euros per night. 2 single beds put together for me and my wife with a make shift sofa bunk bed right next to our bed for the children . It’s very under whelming . The staff speak barely any English . It’s very difficult to get information on anything local or skiing because of the communication. The restaurant don’t cater at all for children . There is no children’s portions . Most of the machines in the arcade don’t work. You get a free mini bar for the first lot of stock and then get charged after that except all that’s in there are 2 waters and 2 fantas . You would have thought for 500 euros a night you might get a couple of bottles of water each day. The shower- be careful when standing under it. One second it’s fine and then it can be scalding hot and then turn ice cold . I would not stay here again.

We have just returned from a 3 day stay in Hotel Melia Sierra, and have to say it was a wonderful experience. A special thanks to Carlos for looking after our large family so well and for arranging fabulous birthday cakes, he really went that extra mile. The Reception Staff we’re all very helpful & polite. All our rooms were very clean and comfortable & the kids had a great time in the lovely pool. The breakfast is by far the best we have ever had & we have been to many hotels in many Countries. So when we visit Sierra Nevada again, we will be definitely staying in your Hotel. Thank you all again. Ann Lynch & Family

DO NOT BOOK IF YOU WANT TO SLEEP. Basically like sleeping in a sauna and have seen lots of other reviews saying the same which I wish I read before. Was moved to another room at 2am and had to move back to our original room at 7am. The manager didn’t even appologise. Windows wide open won't help you - temperature did not change much, and the loud music/people would keep you up anyway until 5am. Bad value for money, and no client care. Seems this is a recurring issue the hotel aren’t prepared to do anything about. Do not recommend.

We have just come back from staying at Melia Sierra Nevada and we loved everything about this hotel. After reading reviews i was pleasantly surprised. This is a hotel in the center of a skiing resort so it’s never going to be cheap. The hotel has everything you need from a good spa (with no screaming kids as some reviews mentioned as there is a separate spa for kids). The hotel has a Swiss alpine feel just what you want for a skiing trip. The Kids club was great and opened till 22.45 which was really great. There was live entertainment on every night lasting till 00.00 with really good acts, we never expected this so a real bonus to enjoy after dinner. We had a level junior suite and got upgraded to a grand suite so we couldn’t of asked for more. We will be back in March and 100% staying at Melia Sierra Nevada.

The ONLY reason I can see ti book this hotel is its proximity to the ski lifts BUT that doesn’t justify the premium price for such basic accommodation and poor service! No concierge service and unhelpful front desk. Everything had to be asked for: dirty towels taken from room but not replaced; empty shower gel that took 3 days to replace; empty tissue box never replaced despite making it obvious; room water not replaced. I asked 3 weeks before arrival if we needed to book restaurants over the Christmas period and (only after chasing) hot a reply a week later saying they could accommodate us in the hotel restaurant - we arrived to find it full! When I asked if they could recommend/book another was told they don’t do that and I should go out on the street to try to find something.
