It’s a very old building so expect some ‘quirks’. That said, everything worked, the bathroom/shower was great and it’s very quiet so I had an amazingly lovely sleep.

Our room was stunning! The Boardroom was just beautiful, wish we could have stayed longer. The food in the evening was divine, great to see some clever vegan options

I had Room 1, a large room with an excellent view. As you saw from the title of this review, the porridge at breakfast was excellent.

It was a wonderful location within walking distance of shopping and restaurants. We had dinner at their restaurant which was excellent: attentive staff, warm atmosphere and tasty menu selections. The accommodations had Old World charm with modern conveniences.

The room was comfortable and tastefully decorated. The lighting in the bathroom was poor making shaving difficult.
This stay was over priced for a luxury double. The couple who came with us had a far better room as a standard, even with a four poster bed!
We were given 1 small bottle of shampoo and just 1 packet of shortbread biscuits!

We liked the fact the Old Lodge is 400 years old with character and features. Plenty of free Off Road Parking.
We didn't like the fact that on the phone we were told breakfast was included in the price but when we arrived at the hotel we were told breakfast was £37 per day. We decided not to eat at the Old Lodge on principle.

Had a great time in the main house as when we arrived we were given a upgrade for free the steak was mouthwatering and staff were very down to earth friendly and helpful 😀
