Flamingo Express Hotel

I have stayed at this property many times in the past and it seems nicer now than it used to be very clean property is clean. Staff is nice.

My husband and I have stayed at this hotel three or four times because of its proximity to Osceola Heritage Park. Over the course of the years, we can tell the owners are trying to update the facility to attract families by providing activites that children enjoy---game room, water park, activity center, movie nights. The common areas are looking very good and have improved greatly. The rooms were clean but could use updated furnishings and beddings.

The bed was very comfortable. However, I ended up with 2 queen size beds in my room and requested 1 during booking. I was put on the second floor when there were maybe 20 other guests there. I asked at the front desk for ground room do to health issues. The carpet and furniture was VERY out dated, The carpet was dirty. No room to watch TV and IT HAD A HORRIBLE MILDEW SMELL. I had to turn the heat on to dry out the smell. The wardrobe was peeling as well as the table. The only chair was an office chair and it was so low to the floor it made it uncomfortable to rest my arms on the desk. Coffee and microwave work great, but the fridge not so good. The sink leaked onto the floor so I put a towel down to keep the floor dry. Under the sink a tile was laying there so I left it there. Most frustrating though, (and i take the blame) checking in early did not happen even though were only about 10 cars in the lot. I arrived early, 12:30 pm and finally able to check in at around 3pm. I have just never encountered anything like that in all my travels. The lobby and the grounds were very well kept. P.S. The restaurant MEMO's has great chicken wings. good food there.

The room (3311) was clean and comfortable. The only negative was being placed right near an elevator that made a terrible squeak and grinding aound every time it was used.

The elevator in my building is in serious need of servicing. The mechanism makes a horrifying noise every time it is operated. I also saw other signs of deferred maintenance, such as chairs with missing back rests that were covered up with decorative material. The staff were friendly and helpful. it is a 3 star hotel with a water park. The price is right.

Fast check in, room was clean and spacious. Had flat tv, microwave, refrigerator and toiletries.It was raining, the pool was closed and looked fun.

Furniture was old and in disrepair. Bathroom had old, crusted dirt that had not been cleaned in a while.

The women at the front desk were very nice, and check in was very simple. The pool is outside but heated, and kept in good shape. (The pool towels were super small though!) The waterpark was extra, but we didn't see anyone using it (it was December). The room: The air conditioner worked well (a little loud). The beds were comfortable and bedding was nice. The bathroom was small but workable. The shower didn't give great pressure, but it did the job. The bottom of the tub was slippery - the hotel needs appliqués or some kind of texture so we don't slip. The coffee pot didn't work - it only stayed on when you hold the button constantly. The fridge was cold. The wardrobe was big. The dresser was very dated and tough to open, but it was roomy. The door to the room wasn't sealed right and there was a gap in spots and it stuck so you had to pull/push it shut. Same with the door to the bathroom. The entire facility was dated and needs renovations, but the workers did well with what they had. There was also an arcade and laundry area which we didn't use. Two cons: there are no hair dryers at the facility. We were in the room when housekeeping was cleaning rooms. She didn't knock on the door (we didn't have a sign up) and bypassed us. I stopped at the front desk to ask that she make sure she get us - particularly because we needed to replace towels. Housekeeping gave us two towels (there were 4 of us staying), and that was it. She didn't even empty the garbage.
