If you're planning to explore South Cebu for a few days and want to avoid the crowds while experiencing authentic local and intimate beach vibes, this is definitely the perfect base. It's conveniently along the highway and roughly located at the midpoint of all the major activities and attractions in the south.
The property isn't huge, and the limited number of guests creates the wonderful feeling of having your own private beach home. The owners are attentive and responsive to any requests, yet they give you plenty of space afterward, so you never feel watched or intruded upon which I personally dont like in big resorts.
In the early mornings, you'll be treated to the sight of fish leaping from the water while local fishermen cast their nets nearby. The friendly golden retrievers who also loves to be pet are roaming around freely and can often be seen swimming playfully at sunset, really adds to the heartwarming homey vibes of the place.
Food is great and has that comforting homecooked deliciousness with huge portions but still reasonably priced. You can also order and request a grill set up along the beach.
I highly recommend trying one of the beachfront tents. Falling asleep and waking up to the gentle sea breeze and the soothing rhythm of crashing waves is a very relaxing and rejuvenating experience.

I needed a hotel for 10 hours transit between 2 international flights. The sakura capsule hotel is located in terminal 1 (domestic) of Cebu airport, around 3-5 mins walk from the international arrival. The walkway is actually an outdoor parking space between the two terminals and I felt safe walking even though it was 2 in the morning. Check in process was smooth, the staff are friendly and accommodating, there is locker to keep your shoes and luggage, their mattress was super comfortable, enough sockets / usb slots to recharge your devices, shower and toilet are clean with towel , slippers and tooth brush provided. There are also shower gel, shampoo and hair conditioner. I rested well all the way till the time to check in for my flight around 11 am (the staff also asked if I need a wake up call which I did not need but still, cool!). There is also little area for coffee and tea to refresh your morning. I would come back here without hesitation. Thank you!

Anonymous UserGreat location, good Wi-Fi with a few minor disconnections. The air conditioning is too noisy, the bed creaks, and the bathroom was moderately clean, but acceptable. However, the staff is very pleasant and attentive. The terrace restaurant is very nice, the pool is super well-maintained, and I had a meal and a drink there, which was pleasant but nothing special. On the other hand, the staff there are incredibly pleasant, helpful, and caring.

Guest UserWhile the staff is helpful, the hotel’s location is a bit isolated from key landmarks like the ferry terminal, Fort San Pedro, and Magellan’s Cross, making a taxi necessary for most sightseeing. The rooms are quite basic and lack soundproofing; noise from the corridors was a persistent issue. Unless you are traveling on a strict budget, I would recommend looking elsewhere

Guest UserThe Hotel is located in front of the beach and walking distance to the Restaurants (MJ Square) and supermarket and laundry shop. Its also very well decorated, the hotel also provide a Netflix account. The only thing missing in the room is a Safe-deposit Box.

Anonymous UserHotel staff was very nice and polite. The accommodation is very close to my diving centre and diving site. Got a private bathroom but there is not washing basin, but can turn to use the bathroom tap to walk hands. Although the hotel is next to the traffic road, but upon request on trip.com, I was assigned a room that is in a more inner location, which is quiet. Mosquitoes are inevitable, as there is slit in the toilet windows. Would recommend this hotel for those who dive

I have few things to say about my stay in RedDoorz New Era.
First, I made a request for an early check in 4 or 5 weeks ago because my flight was scheduled to arrive at 8am. I reached at the hotel at around 9am but the reception asked me for an additional charge of 500 pesos which for me was such a big amount considering the cost of the overnight stay. I booked the hotel at US$14 (around 800 pesos a night) plus 500 pesos (around $9). The older receptionist just needs a lot of money.
Second, the red pillows were very smelly. I guess they never wash or change it's pillow case cause the sweat of previous guests still stuck in them.
Third, The hotel doesn't have slippers so you should bring your own. There's no hooks or anything that you can hang towel or something inside the bathroom as well.
And lastly, the housekeeper keeps on shouting and knocking... no, it's banging the door in the morning at around 10:10am just to ask if I am extending my stay. It was very distracting and unethical. If a guest has plans to extend, I guess he/she is responsible enough to inform the receptionist, otherwise, it is understood that he/she is leaving.
There's one thing though that this hotel is fair enough during my stay, the am shift guard was quite helpful.
Overall assessment is not recommended. You can find a much better hotels (budget hotels) around Cebu city and mandaue.

Guest UserWe read a lot of negative reviews about the hotel but decided to take a chance. For the price, it's a perfectly decent hotel. It doesn't look like much from the outside, but the rooms are fine and clean. The internet is pretty good. There's no hot water, but that's mentioned in the description. The entrance for shark swimming is just 100 meters away. It gets crowded before lunch, but after that, only a few tourists remain in Tanawan, so you can swim peacefully outside the shark area or go to the waterfall, which is about 3 km from the hotel (it closes at 3:30 PM). Since the hotel (like most in Tanawan) is located along the road, it can be noisy, so try to get a room not facing the road.
