I recently stayed for two nights at this hotel to attend an event being held there on 4 September 2022 that I was involved in organising. My room was clean, spacious, quiet and comfortable and the cleaning staff were efficient and courteous. The varied breakfast was excellent value for money and catered fir all tastes. We were allocated a conference room for our event and it took several months to manage the function due to the large number of attendees. The assistance given to this end by Costin and his team at Novotel Stevenage was flawless - nothing was too much trouble and, as a result, on the day everything came together perfectly. The food service, a buffet, was perfectly prepared and the bar staff courteous, polite and efficient. If you are planning to stay here and / or hold an event or conference I would wholeheartedly recommend the hotel and its staff.

Hotel was dated with a lot of work needed to bring up to modern Standards from the outside. Weird bathroom/toilet room with the toilet being separate to the bathroom. Breakfast only served until 10 on a Sunday, when most people rise quite late

For what it is, it’s okay. The rooms are comfy & clean + modern. There is free on-site parking + outdoor seating area to enjoy drinks etc. The food is just bang average, nothing to write home about - typical chain restaurant food and mass processed breakfast buffet you can expect in the morning. Some of the staff are just odd, no other real way of describing them. One young lad at breakfast this morning you could tell just hated being there and was on his phone most of the time. This place really is designed for quick stop overs, you don’t want to spend more than a day here tops.

Good sized room and comfortable as always, I have stayed here maybe half a dozen times on business, friendly and helpful staff. A few areas looking a little tired now, some of the carpets are really badly stained including the one in my room, the only real negative I have.

Stayed 2 nights , booked by travel company as part of Wimbledon package . Convenient location just off A1 . Free parking, carpark littered with Corona beer cardboard , bottles, masks etc - still there when we left . Room 125 , clean , comfortable beds ,hot efficient shower and good towels but wasn't serviced during our stay . Pitied the poor barman ,long queue and seemed to be serving meals as well as the bar on our 1st night. Evening meal , mediocre pub food standard . Breakfast okay, no uncleared tables to eat inside so moved outside and ate amongst litter and glasses from the night before ! I appreciate that lots of hotels are experiencing staffing problems at the moment but ...... Hopefully this hotel won't be offered by the travel company next year .

Whilst staying at this hotel I came out to my car and found my wing mirror pushed inwards and the paint on the wing mirror marked. No other cars parked anywhere near the car and the hotels blue laundry bin was sitting in the parking space next to the car. Reported to hotel reception who advised they would look into it. No one came back to me. Again at check out the person had no record of this issue being looked into. Again I was told they would look into it and come back to me again the hotel failed to respond. Escalated a case and gain no one came back to me . A total lack of respect for customers property at this establishment, and quite shocking not coming back to me. You don expect to find your car mirror pushed inwards and marked and a laundry truck sitting next to your car, A total lack of care Rooms and bathroom were clean although the phone in the room was broken. Food at the establishment is adequate

The hotel reception and bar are very nicely decorated, so it makes a good first impression. The room is decent too. I had read horror stories about the breakfast but it was actually quite nice. Dinner was good too. We were overcharged for a drinks order but I think the staff member was new and getting used to things so I definitely wouldn't hold that against her! It was easily rectified. The bed was pretty comfy although there were some strange noises in the middle of the night. We are pretty sure it was someone's shower we could hear through the wall which isn't ideal when they went to take a shower at 3am... also the phone in the room very occasionally made a noise like it was starting a dial tone. It was very infrequent but annoying when you're trying to sleep. While the dinner was nice, I do find it a bit odd how food stops being served at 8:45. It doesn't really give people time to have a relaxing dinner and then order dessert. Also, you have people travelling quite a long way who may not be able to get there in time. It would be nice if there was some sort of snack/light refreshments menu before and after serving times. Room service was advertised but they weren't doing it. Staff were all very friendly and there is a nice outdoor seating area. For the price we paid. I would stay here again.

The room was clean and spacious, however the shower had weird white stains all over the walls with a strong unpleasant odour in that room of mouldy cheese and sick. I ended up buying a bottle of bleach to pour down the plug holes and sprayed half a bottle of perfume in the room to remove/cover the smell. The bed was uncomfortable. I liked the fact there was a fridge in the room as I could make my own breakfast (overnight oats) and store my lunch for the next day in there. Food choices at the on-site restaurant were limited so ended up either eating out or ordering food in. The reason I continued to stay here was because it was close to my place of work. Wouldn’t stay here for leisure.
