"This hotel is absolutely lovely, myself and my company are now using this on the regular basis after such a good experience. The aesthetic is very comforting, so much effort put in to the detail, lovely classic traditional furnishing whilst being freshly decorated and very well looked after and clean. high quality for the price. Staff are very welcoming and go out of their way to be helpful. Lovely set up of fresh bottled water, tea coffee etc in the rooms. Beautiful open fire downstairs in the pub with fresh sandwiches served ! Lots of privacy and very quiet at night. No noise from pub below."

"It took 10 minutes to get checked in the room, and it was OK just a bit dirty and shabby. The bathroom was disgusting and not hygienic, using the toilet, and the flusher was very loosed, and the toilet roll holder fell into the toilet when I went to get some. Took them three hours before they looked at it. The shower just leek out the bottom. Stay away from poor customer service and a failing hotel"

"We came for a 3 course Christmas dinner, as soon as we walked through the door we were stood in a crowd in reception waiting ages to be seated. We were seated in a marquee when we were told we would be in the restaurant. Our drinks took an hour to come to the table. Starters were cold. We then waited an hour for our main meal which was also cold. Where we were seated was freezing cold. People were complaining as they hadn’t been given food or drinks and they ended up leaving without having a Christmas dinner the customer service was appalling. Totally ruined our Christmas meal and wouldn’t recommend. Whenever we or someone else complained, they didn’t care and didn’t do anything to resolve the lack of food or drinks. The manager was no help what so ever yet charged £75 a head."

"Nice hotel but the staff seemed little bit unsure about what is going on, it seemed a bit understaffed. The breakfast was very disappointing, both hot and cold food kept running out, it seems they had under ordered. We booked and paid for breakfast with the stay but you can just walk in without paying because there was nobody hosting on the second day."

"Location was useful, however the beds were rock solid and the layout of the bathroom was nothing short of confusing, the sink and mirror were outside the door of the main bathroom containing the shower and toilet and was carpeted like the rest of the room. Tiles were chipped and yellowed and the decor could do with a good update. The matter of charging for use of the spa facilities of overnight guests is also baffling for a property that regards itself as a 'Hotel & Spa'."

"I booked Hillscourt for 2 nights to attend my brothers funeral, unfortunately I had an accident while I was here and had to stay another night. The care I had from the staff was excellent they couldn’t have done more for me, even bringing me breakfast in bed! Highly recommend, the personal care and kindness was  second to none and I shall definitely stay here again!"
