Swinton Park

From start to finish everything was perfect. Everyone made us feel so welcome, from the staff to our fellow guests. We had so many great conversations with such a diverse group of wonderful people. We had a complimentary room upgrade which was wonderful, we stayed for 2 nights in the Thirsk room; which was lovely, warm and comfortable. I would recommend the Champagne welcome package and late checkout, it was great to enjoy a chilled glass of champagne in our room as we got ready for dinner. We ate both nights at Samuel’s, which is in a stunningly decorated dining hall, the service was exceptional and the food was delicious. Breakfast both days was also at Samuel’s and it was really nice; great value. They have cooked and continental available and it was all good quality. I would have liked more sweet options on the menu, perhaps French toast or waffles. But that’s just nitpicking. There’s loads of activities you can join in to, we really enjoyed the cocktail tasting at the Terrace bar, where we acted as guinea pigs for new cocktail creations, it was a fun experience. The cocktails which we actually paid for were also very good. Likewise the cocktails at Samuel’s bar were also well made. The spa was amazing, I especially liked the Finnish sauna and outdoor hydrotherapy pool and hot tub. The outdoor pool is cold but just take the plunge! You will not regret it. The spa also has lovely outdoor beds, with warm blankets and a hot water bottle. Perfect to relax with a few drinks. There’s honesty just too much to say, the house itself is stunning, the grounds are gorgeous and I cannot wait to return again.

The most wonderful one night stay in Ripon Suite, thank you Andrew for organising this, much appreciated. Staff so courteous, food wonderful, cleanliness outstanding and so many county pursuits from fly fishing, falconry, golf, clay pigeon shooting etc. hard to choose one. Then the spa and pool facilities looked perfect.

Very relaxing weekend stay on the Swinton Estate with family for daughter's 21st. The hotel has good restaurants and spa as well as a bird of prey centre, though falconry needs to be booked well in advance of arrival. Also within the estate is Swinton Bivouac around 15 minutes away by car. Excellent grounds for walking / biking, helpful staff, good food and, when it is fully working, one of the best spas I've seen in a UK hotel. As far as I can tell, the hotel, bivouac, restaurants and spa appear to operate as separate organisations so billing can sometimes be a bit disjointed, but they get there eventually and are cheerful with it. Highly recommended, whether staying in a yurt, tree house, cottage or hotel.

We had a lovely stay at Swinton. Upon arrival we were served with a complementary drink which you could take to your room, save for one of the restaurants or take into the room just off reception to enjoy! Once we had our drink we decided to have a walk of the grounds as our room wasn’t quite ready yet, after our walk we returned to reception to see how are room was getting on. It still wasn’t ready so we opted to have another drink where we did before. The receptionist at the time said she would send a staff member through to take our drinks order, we waited 20 minutes for anyone to even come in the room and even when they did they hadn’t been instructed of taking our drink order! We finally went up to the room which was beautiful! Decided to head down to the spa, again absolutely beautiful too we got comfortable on the loungers and then had a good walk around to see what there was to use in the spa! We both decided that we wanted to use the foot spa machines but unfortunately 2 out of the 4 were broken meaning we would have to sit apart and use them. Heading back to the loungers we decided to get a drink, again we waited over 30 minutes pressing the button they give you on the tables and no one came to us. We did see the girl who was working and caught her attention when she was passing by from serving another customer. We ate at the terrace and couldn’t recommend the restaurant enough! The food and the service were excellent and we would definitely return! Breakfast was lovely with a great variety of choices. We enjoyed our stay we just wished the service had been slightly better!

Fantastic location, lovely building but the rest of our stay was a bit disappointing. We were not told beforehand that some of the spa facilities were not available. This put pressure on the remaining facilities and it felt cramped and not luxurious.

I took my partner here for his birthday and we both absolutely loved it! From the welcome in reception to service at dinner and having our room turned down ready for bed, it was all so wonderful. We had a walk around the grounds which was beautiful, complimentary cocktail class and dinner in the evening was delicious! Thank you so much for making his birthday so special and memorable :)

An amazing relaxing stay at Swinton park - so much to do on the estate, the walks are fantastic and the spa is one of the best I’ve ever been to! We loved pressing the button by the pool for drinks and being able to enjoy a poolside Prosecco! Had a lovely meal in Samuels in the evening, and breakfast was also top notch Staff are so friendly and can’t do enough for you! Would highly recommend and will definitely be back!

My partner and I absolutely loved our stay at Swinton Park. Some friends had suggested it and there was no regret whatsoever. It was outstanding from start to finish. Everyone was super friendly and there was so much to do and see. The spa is the best I have ever been to. I wish we could have stayed for longer but we definitely will be back in the future.

We visited Swinton Park to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The staff all made us feel very welcome and their attention to detail was excellent.
