There were mosquitoes in the room. I didn't get much sleep all night. The air conditioner was very loud.

Good location for Yala National Park. The hotel had a fantastic view over the rice fields. Make sure you check out the fruit bats that hand in the trees opposite. Staff were attentive and happy to help. We met the owner who was super knowledgeable, kind and helpful to us. Great place.

Stayed here with partner and my best friend for two nights while we explored Yala National Park. The staff were very friendly and accommodating, the food was amazing, it had great scenic views from the rooftop and it was very reasonably priced. There are hopper stalls and other restaurants walking distance as well, if wish to try other local cuisines. I highly recommend The Rain Tree Hotel if you’re visiting Yala National Park or the surrounding area!

Amazing! the "View point" of the hotel creates a snapshot of ' Culture, Heritage, Natural beauty and People' of Sri Lanka. The 'Heavenly feeling and the freedom' at the top is remarkable . The management and the staff are friendly and supportive

I recommend this hotel for everyone because Excellent room service and all the nature beauty around the hotel. It is a great hotel because there is a beautiful Lake infrontof the hotel called "tissa wewa " There is a good landscape view on top of the hotel also I'm enjoyed the beautiful sunset and sunrise This is the best place for those nature lovers.

We had a good stay during road trip in feb 2024 in one of the simple rooms. The food was nice. The staff was friendly and entertaining, all local people. Arrived in the early afternoon and went for a hike along the lake and that was very nice, lot's a birds, lizards, buffel. But at sunset it was really spectacular : hundreds of eggret and stork seeking a place to sleep in the rain trees and exodus of thousands of flying foxes (harmless fruit bats ) to their feeding grounds. Next day on safari.

Our recent 2 day stay at the Rain Tree Hotel with my cousin Kamali and her husband was truly memorable. The rooms were well furnished & comfortable. The amiable owner Mr. Upali Sudusinghe is a gracious host, always around to greet his guests and to ensure they are looked after. The highlight of our stay was reaching the viewing gallery on the 5th level to see the sunset and the hundreds or maybe thousands of bats flying away to the night foraging location. Mr. Upali offered to take us to see the surrounding sites the next day, despite his busy schedule . This was most educative. Learnt so much of our history. Thank you Mr. Upali and team for the enjoyable time at Rain Tree !

We really enjoyed our stay a the Rain Tree Hotel. We were welcomed by the owner and his friendly staff and encouraged to walk round the lake but making sure we were back in time for the Fruit Bat nightly migration which can best be seen from the roof top of the hotel. The pool was lovely and the room was clean and tidy with a balcony over looking the pool The wide ranging spread at dinner was the best food we had on our trip to Sri Lanka. We would recommend the hotel.
