Melba House

Great location. Comfy bed and good cleanliness. Lovely touches like cake left in your room and a treat each evening left in a pouch on the door😋 Sharon was lovely attentive host nothing was too much trouble and plentiful great breakfast. Will definitely recommend Melba House

First of all, a big thank you to Sharon and Mark for making us feel so welcome to their beautifully appointed guest house. Nothing is too much trouble for these hosts. From the moment you arrive to the moment you leave, you feel that they have your every interest at heart The rooms are spotles and lovely, and the beds are extremely comfortable. Breakfast is superb and the portion sizes are huge . You'll have to forego your diet if you stay here. Thanks once again to Sharon and Mark, if we come to Torbay again, we will certainly come and stay with you once more.

We booked for 10 days and were not disappointed. Sharon and Mark are kindest,warmest hosts we have ever met. Nothing was too much trouble for them. Breakfast was fantastic all freshly cooked and little treats left on the door was such a nice touch. The room was spotless and the towels/bedding smelt wonderful. We were in room 4 the bed was really comfy and shower great. Well worth a visit you will not be disappointed. Only short walk to railway station and buses. We will definitely be going back. Thank you Sharon and Mark for making our 50th wedding anniversary so special.

Book a holiday here. You will not be disappointed!! We loved our stay. Mark and Sharon are very lovely people who made us feel very welcome and cared for. The room (6) was beautifully decorated and had everything and more. Even the towels smelt fresh and comforting! Very comfy bed. TV. Nice refreshment tray. Very clean and sumptuous. Powerful shower. The breakfast was amazing! We chose what we wanted the day before. We loved the rainbow fruit salad and the full English breakfast. Mark is an eggspert at eggs!!!! Plenty of choice and a lovely homely dining room where it was nice to chat to the other guests. The location is literally a 10 minute walk to the sea. There is so much to do in Torquay and in the surrounding area. We asked Sharon and Mark for ideas where we could go and we weren't disappointed. We loved Brixham, Dartmouth and Babbacombe Model Village. We felt very spoilt throughout our stay at Melba House and will definitely return. Love Helen and Mark xxxx

Me and my husband Colin had an absolutely perfect 6 nights stay at Melba house. Sharon and Mark are the most wonderful hosts and nothing was too much trouble. Our room no 4 was so clean and cosy with everything we needed. The bed was so comfortable with a lovely mattress and pillows. The food was so tasty and Sharon's melba breakfast in a bowl was lovely along with Marks tasty cooked breakfasts and Sharon's too. What made the holiday perfect was the attention to detail from our attentive hosts. A special thank you for the nightly chocolate treat and our bag of goodies for the journey home which was most welcome on our long journey. Thank you so much Sharon and Mark and we'd love to return again in the near future X

Myself and my husband Martyn have just returned from a great weeks stay at Melba house. Mark and Sharon went out of their way to make our stay very relaxing and comfortable. The breakfast is fantastic with large variety of options to chose from. The Melba house breakfast in a bowl was one of our favourites along with Marks poached eggs! The property is extremely clean and the beds were very comfortable. I would highly recommend Melba house to anyone thinking of visiting Devon. I will certainly visit again in the future.

We booked this guest house last minute. How lucky were we. Mark and Sharon were so friendly, and welcoming. The room was comfortable, clean, and every detail was thought of. The breakfast was very tasty with a wide range of good quality products. We would definitely go back again.

The attention to detail at Melba House is unsurpassed. Mark and Sharon are so attentive. Rooms are superb, showers are strong and beds really comfortable. Breakfast is a treat and Mark has to be the "King of Eggs", no matter how you like them, he'll perfect them. Some great local advice of where to go, what to see and also what to avoid, was appreciated. Melba House will not disappoint.

The hotel is absolutely spotless and maintained to the very highest standards. The hosts are wonderful people who are so attentive and nothing is too much trouble. The breakfasts are amazing - 5 stars
