My husband and I returned yesterday having spent two nights at The Charterhouse. We have never stayed in such a lovely guest house. Everything was excellent, accommodation, cleanliness, facilities, amazing breakfast and a great location. Lisa and Christophe are the most friendly of Landlords, nothing being too much trouble. The guest house is just a few minutes from the main rd which runs along the seafront. The number 12 bus runs every 10mins which takes you in to the centre of Torquay and the opposite way to Paignton and Brixham. I recommend you take the 20-25min walk from Charterhouse to Cockington village. A pretty village with the most amazing country park. Thank you Lisa and Christophe for your hospitality.

Warm friendly welcome and nothing, throughout our stay was too much trouble. The room was very spacious and very comfortable and had everything we could have wanted. Breakfasts were always hot when they arrived at the table as they were cooked to order. Couldn't fault this guest house, excellent!

All lovely. Clean and attractive accommodation, pretty garden, great location, tasty breakfast, kind hosts, comfortable and well equipped. Comfortable bed, quality sheets and towels, well stocked tray.

The Character House is a lovely guest house the owner are very friendly and helpful and nothing was to much trouble for them, our room was light and airy very comfortable bed with tea and coffee plus a mini fridge. The breakfast's were delicious with a very versatile menu, you are lonely a sort walk from the sea front plus an excellent bus service at the end of the road. We would recommend this guest house to family and friends plus are looking to return as soon as we can. Gerard & Maureen Kenny

This is a really lovely place to stay, warm welcome from the charming hosts, lovely cleans rooms, and superb breakfast, with local produce and home made food. Set in a nice quiet roan and yet so close to the town centre, 15 min walk with all the usual amenities. Buses run from the end of the road and the village of Cockington is only half a mile away, with all its thatched house.

Lovely place, lovely hosts, lovely breakfast. My wife and I had a very comfortable stay and would highly recommend The Charterhouse, if you want to visit Torquay, or Torbay. Fabulous is the one word definition. Loved the garden and wildlife pond too.

Stayed for 2 nights. Upgraded to the sea view room on the top floor. Very spacious , very clean, excellent sea view. Lovely to have a fridge with ‘proper’ milk for coffee and tea. Breakfast was excellent and plentiful with an amazing choice of homemade jams. Lisa was welcoming and friendly. 20 min flat walk into town centre but we caught the bus which arrived every 10 mins-perfect. Great place to stay .

Having stayed at a number of quality B&B’s in Torquay over the last few years, this is the best. Comfort, cleanliness, location, host and breakfast, ticked all of the boxes. Lovely walk to Cockington village and only 30 minutes easy walk along the seafront into the town centre.
