Sugar Mill Hotel

We absolutely loved our stay at Sugar Mill! When we first pulled in, the small size made we a little nervous but then it actually became one of the many reasons we loved it! The people and service make it special! We got to know everyone during the week we were there (including guests!) and it was a pleasure. I would say do the 7 day all inclusive and enjoy all the food, drinks and excursions they have to offer. We loved the included tour of Tortola with a champagne picnic lunch. As well as the day on their boat snorkeling and enjoying the day. The Friday night BBQ with live music is so much fun too! Andrea and Rupert the managers are always on hand to help in any way. They actually helped book an extra boat excursion one day so we could see some other islands. We stayed in the Honeymoon Cottage which we loved but I would probably choose an upper level room in the Plantation House next time. I was also nervous about there being only 2 restaurants but the food is some of the best we have ever eaten! The main restaurant is open air and does not have air conditioning so keep that in mind when packing. The King Neptune was my favorite entree and even had it for 3 nights while we were there! And for sure do not over pack! You only need swimsuits and light shorts or dresses for dinner. If you are looking for a lively night time place…this is probably not it. But if you are looking for relaxation, great food and service I could not recommend it more!

Much more than luxurious lodging and exemplary dining, a stay at the Sugar Hill Hotel is a zenith experience. It's the stuff romantics dream about, poets pen sonnets on, and discerning travelers feel victorious upon finding. The sway of languid palms, beguiling fragrance of jasmine, glow of candlelight, and beckoning of the azure sea all flirt with you, and.... you blissfully surrender. Disney move over.... MAGIC is HERE!

This hotel delivers the best of the old Caribbean combined with great food and a terrific management team and staff. In particular, don’t miss a massage with Marjorie. She is world class and a Sugar Mill highlight. Head chef, Bernard, with years of experience is also one of a kind. Best value for your dollar in the Caribbean!

We had a wonderful 4 night stay at the Sugar Mill hotel. The hotel is situated on the hillside and on the beach. The hotel and surrounding grounds are beautiful. Both restaurants are excellent and the food was cooked to a very high standard. The fine dining restaurant was fantastic and reasonably priced. Our room was to a very high standard which we could not fault. All the staff we met were excellent and gave us wonderful service with a smile. We will definitely come back.

This was our second visit to Sugar Mill and once again an exceptionally enjoyable stay in this boutique hotel. We love the intimate setting, very high standards of cleanliness, exceptional quality of food, and friendliness of staff. Denis and Mary the owners, are visible and clearly take a very personal interest in the quality of the property, and Andrea and Rupert do an awesome job managing the day to day in a very efficient and personable manner. A wonderful week!

The Sugar Mill Hotel and Tortolla, BVI along the coast where this hotel is located the views are absolutely breathtaking, more so than any Island in the Caribbean and we have been to all of them. If you want a getaway at a quiet place with a fantastic Gourmet restaurant and beauty all around you then this is the place. Private Cottages tastefully furnished have direct views out over the water with your own private balcony. We loved the privacy, the furnishings, the king size bed, the pillows , the lighting fixtures, and the tea, regular coffee, expresso, and water provided complimentarily. The Staff, managers, and owners could not be more hospitable and accommodating. If you pay for the "all inclusive" (which we did not) we think it is the better option (Look at what is included) Lastly we rented a car for part of our stay which was a definite challenge with left side of the road driving plus rugged steep roads and although scary at first, It was a really fun experience.

We had a lovely time at the Sugar Mill with the all-inclusive package. Our island tour of Tortola's secluded beaches with a picnic lunch and the full-day on owner Dennis' catamaran were A+! Room was wonderful, complete with sitting area, secluded balcony facing the Caribbean. Staff was friendly and helpful, managers Andrea and Ruppert always available. Pool was great, but beach rocky. No walking trails for exercise, and visiting other areas of island meant renting a car or taxi. Food and meals fine, but sometimes too relaxed on timing.

Our time at the Sugar Mill Hotel was wonderful! We loved the room, the view from our porch, the amazing bar and restaurant for breakfast every morning right on the ocean, the very clean room and friendly staff! We had dinner the last night at the Sugar Mill restaurant, and I’m still thinking about the shrimp risotto, it was so delicious! Highly recommend!

This is true;y one of the most amazing places in the world, I love Tortola and Sugar Mill is absolutely perfect, the rooms and perfect and comfortable and the staff are all wonderful! I LOVE every minute at the Sugar Mill!! I am counting the days until I go back!
