Miss Junies Lodge

Very clean room and helpful staff. The location is amazing. Very close to the village and entrance to the National park but in a very quiet setting between ocean and river. The pool is fantastic!

Absolutely loved staying at Miss Junie's. It's a quaint lodge at the end of the main ***** in Tortuguero. The air conditioning was great. Breakfast was fantastic. They can arrange any tour that you need. They even made a special breakfast for my daughter's 16th birthday. We can't wait to go back to this very special place. Go to Tortuguero and stay at Miss Junie's.

Really authentic place. Beautiful grounds, we saw lots of birds here, and big iguanas. The swimming pool is beautiful and relaxing. Comfy rooms. Make sure to book your tours from here. We booked our turtle tour and canoe tour from here. Our turtle guide is miss Nori from the hotel. She is beyond amazing! She is local, so knowledgeable and does patrols along the beach to protect the turtles. Really admirable!

The best staff you can ask for. True hospitality!!! The breakfast was quaint but delicious. The property is older and simple but clean and safe.

Totally Wonderful It is a wonderful spot. The photos don't do it justice, nestled between the river and the sea, the public boat dropped us off at the property. Staff were excellent, teens loved the pool and how easy it was to wonder into town.

Highly Recommend We had a wonderful stay at Miss Junies. It was well located near to town but had the secluded nature at the end of the village. The sea on one side and the river on the other. The character of the building was amazing with beautiful gardens all around, we saw many different birds and animals. They also had a great pool to swim in.The food we had for breakfast and dinner was delicious. We really enjoyed the two tours we did there the turtle nesting and canoe trip of the canals. They were very informative and genuinely seemed interested and concerned with nature and conservation.

Basic amenities and room, but perfectly fine for a couple of nights in Tortuguero

Absolutely wonderful location

Hotel has a great location - basically right on the ocean on one side, and on a river on the other. Couple minutes walk to the town's main street. The rooms are bare-bones and the bathrooms are old, but everything functioned. No A/C but I believe there was a ceiling fan. The pool was refreshing and it was pleasant to lay out on the lounge chairs. Staff was courteous. Recommended. Don't expect a 5* hotel, but I thought it made for an enjoyable two night stay.
