"Good overnight stop on our way back towards the channel. Spacious room for a budget hotel, quiet with blackout blinds. Full bath with shower, kettle and a courtesy tray was a welcome addition. We had a good night’s sleep after eating in the restaurant. We had pre-booked and paid for bed and breakfast but next morning I felt poorly so did not want any breakfast. The choice given was excellent so it was a shame. We didn’t need to leave until late morning so went to breakfast about 8.30, breakfast ends at 9 a.m. My husband was pleased to find scrambled eggs and bacon but said it was cold. I decided to take a couple of small pieces of French stick filled with a slice of ham to eat a bit later if I felt able but the owner remonstrated with me and told me I could only eat it there. I tried to explain I had not eaten anything as I wasn’t well nor had a drink but he was adamant. So I ate a single slice of toast with jam. I could understand his attitude if I had eaten a full breakfast and then tried to take extra food out but felt he was very inflexible. It was a disappointment to spoil an otherwise nice stay."
