Sotetsu Fresa Inn Nagano-Ueda ★★★
"I have to rave about this hotel! Self-check-in and self-check-out. The room was huge, and I especially want to praise the mattress – it was the perfect firmness, not too soft or too hard, and didn't sag my back! It was fantastic!! Although the room was small, the little table was a thoughtful touch!! The room was very clean, and the bathroom was also quite spacious. Overall, it was a great hotel!! The breakfast was also excellent; I ate my fill!! Although the window couldn't be opened, the view of the entire city was beautiful!! I went to Ueda because of the films *Sanada Maru* and *Shichiriko*, and those scenes still deeply moved me!! I will definitely stay here again next time I visit!!!"
Z hotel
"The arrival time was around 22 o'clock, but it was a warm response. I was able to choose bread for breakfast and spend a relaxing time in a quiet restaurant. The corn soup was delicious too ♪"
Hotel Route Inn Grand Ueda Ekimae ★★★
"I had a very comfortable stay. I left something behind, but... They delivered it to my home and I paid for it, and the service and hospitality was very good. I will definitely use them again if I stay in Ueda again. Sorry for the lack of photos 🙏 Thank you very much 😊"
Uematsuya ★★★★
"I really enjoyed my stay here! I had a Sanada Yukimura-style room, beautiful and cozy. The hot tubs are wonderful, with views of Bessho Onsen, and the autumn colors were so vibrant. Breakfast and dinner were also fantastic! Thank you!"
Ueda Plaza Hotel ★★
"As other people have said, it smells moldy. The facilities are old and it's a cheap hotel. The parking lot is hard to find and narrow, making it difficult to park."
Ueda Plaza Hotel Tenjin
"Since I was staying alone on a Saturday night near Ueda Station, the price was very reasonable. There was a convenience store nearby, and an izakaya that was open late, which was great."
Ueda Tokyu Rei Hotel ★★★
"I use this hotel because I have a study group in Nagano Prefecture every month. Everyone at the front desk is kind and polite. Breakfast is a buffet and the contents remain the same, but I think breakfast is pretty much the same everywhere. If you get tired of it, you can purchase something at a nearby convenience store. I come by car, but when it snows, the train is fine too. It's convenient as it's right next to the station. I'll use it again."
Nakamatsuya Ryokan ★★★★
"Clean, tidy, and with attentive staff. A genuine hot spring. The food was delicious. They even upgraded our room. Great value for money. Highly recommend staying here."
Toyoko Inn Ueda Ekimae ★★★
"The service was good as always."

Tamaya Ryokan
"It's close to the station, the spring water is pure, it flows freely, the food is excellent, the facilities are immaculately cleaned, and the staff are friendly. It's been a while since I've stayed at a lodging that's perfect. Even after hopping on the Shinkansen after work, I was able to take two days off a week and feel like I was on a three-day, two-night trip. I arrived around 9 p.m. with a no-dinner plan, and enjoyed the free-flowing hot spring water that was open all night. The next morning, breakfast was a delicious, no-nonsense ryokan breakfast. Nothing pre-made, everything was homemade, which was impressive. The public bath is closed during the day for cleaning, but I used the public bath at Bessho Onsen instead. I stayed multiple nights, and dinner on the second night was carefully prepared and delicious. There were many thoughtful touches, including a reusable shower bed, a large, movable towel rack, four bath towels, and the option to add yukata (I only had two for two days) (even when I stayed two nights somewhere, they only provided me with a yukata and one towel). I used the public bath 10 times, and it was always clean and well-maintained. Draft beer is also available for free at set times! The soft, free-flowing hot spring water has a faint sulfurous scent, but because it is weakly alkaline, your skin will remain smooth no matter how many times you bathe."
Saito Hotel
"This time, the hospitality was the best. The only disappointment was that there were no toothbrushes, and the private bath and hot spring were lukewarm."
Bessho Onsen Midoriya
"Perfect stay. Amazing modern onsen ryokan. Lovely privat baths ideal for couples or families. Food was also really good and communication with the lovely staff in english (with some help from google translate) easy."
Kakeyu Onsen Kutsurogi No Yado Kuroiwa Ryokan
"It was very clean and the food was delicious no matter what I received. The bath wasn't big at all, but it was clean and relaxing. I will visit you again next year."
Saito Ryokan
"I stayed overnight without meals included, arrived late at night, and left on the first train of the day, but I felt a sense of peace and tranquility that only a small, cozy place can offer. The landlady was very kind, and the sulfurous hot spring water was wonderful."
Bessho Onsen Kashiwaya Honten
"This hotel is located right next to the Kitamuki Kannon template in the bessho onsen area. A very nice place with welcoming and friendly staff. The surrounding place is calming, allowing you to slow down and unwind from the usual busy bustling city life. Little details from nice room design and amenities, valet parking to serving afternoon snacks and coffee/teas definitely make on-the-road travellers relaxed and comfortable. Food was excellent too - fresh, tasty and well presented for guests to enjoy in private dining rooms. Overall a great experience and stay."
Besshoonsen Nanjyo Ryokan
"I stayed at a nearby izakaya (Japanese-style bar) and didn't get a dinner plan, but I still felt that 10,000 yen was an incredible deal for this quality. The room, bath, and service were all perfect for a trip with friends."
Anzuan Nishida
"The owner is very kind. It's quite tiring to walk from the station. You'll sweat a lot even after soaking in the hot spring, so you'll need to change clothes. They provide a shuttle service, so please ask them. Since it's located in a forest-like area, ants and spiders tend to get into the room. It's a bit disappointing that you can't easily go to the hot spring town."
Nanakusa No Yu
"The dinner on the first night was excellent, but unfortunately, I couldn't eat the sashimi because of the wasabi. The breakfast was also excellent, but for some reason, the breakfast on the second night wasn't as good."
Ryokan Hanaya
"I have stayed here three times. This time, the room with hot spring had been renovated, and I was able to enjoy the retro atmosphere while staying there comfortably. There are five baths, including the room and the open-air bath. The hot spring is great for warming up. The breakfast we had in our spacious room on the second floor was delicious and relaxing, while looking out at the bright spring light and fresh greenery. I think it was better than having dinner in our room. As a side note, the siphon coffee with cookies for 600 yen that we had in the reception room on the first floor after the meal was also excellent. I think the water here is also delicious."
