Hotels in Varadero with Swimming Pools

I stayed in multiple resorts during this visit to Varadero and this one is by far the most beautiful. The pool is gorgeous, there are lovely little bars everywhere all over the property too with delicious drinks. I upgraded to a premium suite and omg would highly recommend. Everything is touch activated and it’s basically a smart room. The beach is gorgeous with turquoise waters. The only thing I can say negative was that I didn’t love the buffet food but all of the ala carts are included each night I just never had time to sit down and enjoy one of them. I heard all the restaurants are amazing though - so aim for those. Otherwise - this property is worth every penny 💕

May 17th - 31st This was my 8th time staying here I believe and it certainly did not disappoint. The WIFI internet was decent and available all around the resort! The food was good and acceptable. Ice cream and desserts were the best. The hamburgers were a pleasant surprise with their local condiments! The late night sports bar and grill was the place to be. Air conditioned room with sports tv, pool tables, drinks, and a grill. As long as one visits Varadero to have fun, nobody will be disappointed. It's a utopia, that's all there is to it! Please upgrade and renovate the bathrooms! Tips: - Bring your own toilet paper, candy, sauces, condiments, foaming hand soap, bathtub and shower cleanser, scrub pads, soap bars, razors, shaving foam, - Take a visit to the International bank downtown Varadero to exchange CDN or US dollars into Pesos. Easier to spend with tipping and local restaurants with Pesos. Both have both currencies just in case. - Repeat guests: ask for an extension in your room past check-out time if you need. It should be free if you are a repeat guest.

Good meal, delicious. The environment is very beautiful, the place is very big, but the distance from room to restaurant is relatively long. The lobby service's laughter is not natural enough. Food is not bad.

This was our third visit to this resort and our seventh trip to Cuba. Short version/summary: The current food shortages are having an impact on the resort, but you can still have a good vacation if you manage your expectations and aren’t a picky eater. First-timers to Cuba should perhaps wait until the shortages are resolved. The beach is fantastic and the staff delightful. Long version….. I write this review with mixed feelings, as it’s clear that Cuba is in a crisis and the lovely staff at this resort are trying their best in very difficult circumstances. However I feel that I would be doing a disservice to fellow travellers if I were to gloss over the noticeable decline in food variety that we noticed since our last visit in 2019. Room: We had a ground floor bungalow room, close to the beach. The bungalow rooms are a good size, with a large wrap-around balcony. The room was tired, but clean and had everything we needed. The mattress was comfortable (the best we’ve ever had in Cuba), and the pillows adequate. Air conditioning worked well. The bathroom has a separate room for the toilet and large-stand-up shower, and a good-sized counter for the sink. We had lots of hot water, and great water pressure all week. Towels were large and thick. The closet is located by the sink and has shelves, drawers, and space to hang clothes. Lots of hangers were provided. We had a number of issues with the room through the week (door, safe, plumbing) but all were corrected quickly once reported to staff. Our patio door was exceptionally heavy to open – we chose not to report this as there didn’t seem to be much potential for a solution and we didn’t wish to change rooms. The room was cleaned daily and bedding changed mid-week. Bottled water was provided daily. Beach: What an outstanding beach! The sand is soft, the water is clear, and you can walk for miles. There are lots of palapas at this resort (and more actively being built) but not quite enough chairs. It was necessary to claim chairs in the morning to get a spot. There are games and activities on the beach, and the standard kayaks/pedal boats that you can use. Staff will take you for a short hobie cat ride for free, or for $20/person you can have staff take you in a hobie cat to a nearby snorkling reef. There is a washroom near the beach, however it sometimes didn’t have toilet paper first thing in the morning. Pool: The pool is large and kept nice and clean. It was never an issue to get seats at the pool at any time of day, however shade is fairly limited. There are some broken tiles in the pool here and there (mostly near the edges) so keep an eye where you step. There are also lots of activities at the pool and live music/entertainment every afternoon. There are washrooms close by. Entertainment: This year had the best variety and quality of entertainment that we’ve seen in a long time. No spaces with air conditioning for relaxing at the bar. The only space with air conditioning is at the main restaurant. At the beach you don’t have a close bar. Hard to have a cold drink at the beach. The plastic glasses at the beach are to small to take any drink at the beach. The food at the restaurant is good and varied. The beach and the water are amazing!

Good resort, clean and modern. Theres restaurants, bars, small shops, pools and its on the beach. The rooms are modern, clean and big. A bus is available for free to go to Varadero city on a daily basis, multiple times. The people are approachable and helpful, very lovely people. The food is diverse, meat and veggies. Tasty vegetables and fruits.

It was very pleasant! The team was always going above and beyond to provide us with a personalized stay. Mary , the housekeeper was amazing and always set up cute shaped towels to entertain my little nephew. Mercy , from Public Relations coordinated a welcome gift to celebrate my birthday. The entire team was amazing always smiling and happy to assist. Food varied and the chicken always delicious 😉 my fav. Thank you for making us feel as family. Despite the weather it was a pleasure staying at the facilities. Walking the beach on the afternoon is to died for. Great views from the 7th floor balcony. The Maitre and all the attendees at this Hotel which changed name now to Playa Caleta were amazing! Great customer service

Please note this is not sanctuary, on trip.com you think you are booking sanctuary, but it is the normal grand memories. Other than that it's nice, nice staff and the food was pretty good. Would recommend just pay attention to the name, this is wrong at trip.com, you book the normal grand memories.

I just came back from a week stay at Muthu and my overall experience was great ! The staff at the hotel are absolutely amazing , everyone of them are super friendly and they make you feel like at home , specially Don Roberto at the buffet , Don Diago and Annais at the bar , Carlos at the coffe bar , Yohan with the entertainment crew and of course the amazing Lizandra with PR . I would totally recommend this place to stay in Varadero with your family or alone , you will always feel safe and welcomed. The food was good at least for me , we had rice, pasta , beans , lots of salads and delicious food , ice cream , bread , cheese, ham , eggs fro breakfast , chicken , pork and on the international restaurant you can get lobster and wine . The shows at night are so much fun for the whole family . I can’t wait to be back next year for another amazing week at Muthu ❤️

It was a different experience, I always travel with my family but this time I decided to go to rest and be alone with my partner, which was a bit difficult for me due to different episodes I had at the hotel. As for the service of the waitresses and shop assistants, it is very good, they really make an effort to talk to the clients and make them feel like family, the cleaning is quite good, but I must say that in terms of the food it leaves a lot to be desired, most of the Cold times, without dressings to season salads or vegetables, hot juices and without sugar, there was not a day when there was butter, mayonnaise, or any other sauce to accompany food or breakfast. There is no small oven to heat a toast or a piece of bread, the lousy presentation, if I am honest there was not a day that we ate well and that is mainly due to the little management by the managers, the rather superficial supervision and the justification with all the problems that there are right now in Cuba. Serving a hot dish or a cold juice goes beyond the scarcity that there may be. The towel service for the pool practically does not work, we were waiting all day to be able to get the towels and be able to bathe, when we complained the towels appeared immediately, Unfortunately they tend to justify what was wrong with all the economic problems that exist and that we all know. You pay for a 4-star hotel and receive 2-star service to a great extent.
