Very nice hotel in the centre of Vilnius. Warm comfortable rooms, refined decor which gives the impression of French elegance and sophistication - clearly the impression they want to give off. But for me, like the area of Vilnius it's in, it was all a little twee. Like walking onto a film set for a Victor Hugo novel. All looks nice, but underneath it's just a little... fake. The staff were exceptionally well-trained and very friendly. The breakfast was good - I ordered eggs benedict from the menu - maybe could have done without the cress, but was generally good. But it felt like I was having breakfast in a posh tea room. Sometimes, you just want that egg and bacon feel. The spa was rubbish frankly, the pool was tiny and cold and there is one sauna and you have to book it. We only stayed there for 20 minutes. It feels like it's been quickly added because the hotel feels it should have have a spa. But it's so disappointing that it does more damage than good. All in all, this is, in many ways, a hotel fit for a king, if that king was from Tenessee and sung rock and roll and wanted the impression of France in Lithuania. Does the hotel look and feel nice? Sure. But is this real Vilnius? Absolutely not. It was great for a romantic pre-Chris**as trip with my wife and I would certainly stay again, but it's more for those who prefer the clinking of fine china over a pie and chips. 3.5
