Hyatt Place Virginia Beach/Oceanfront

My stay at the Hyatt was quite pleasant. The direct access to the beach is a major plus. We came to relax and we were able to do just that!

I came down for a quick getaway with my significant other and furry child. The hotel was better than expected. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Everything was kept clean and new looking. The free breakfast was decent. Pet friendly. I would stay there again.

Pros: quiet, clean, and friendly staff. Cons: elevators would get backed up. Thankfully we were on the 3rd floor and found ourselves taking the stairs as it was much quicker. Inconvenience of valet parking. I personally prefer getting my own car at my own convenience.

Loved this property being on the ocean front, there was a delicious full breakfast buffet (you won’t be disappointed) the staff was professional and friendly, the rooms were very nice, my room included 2 beds and a fold out/pull out bed. The only thing I would suggest is a larger inside pool; the pool was just large enough for 4 or 5 adults to enjoy, not large enough to swim in, there is a small outside pool, which isn’t open until later in the season, it’s somewhat small, however the hotel overall is very nice. I will book there again! I enjoyed my stay!

Upon arriving, we were not motioned or welcomed to the check-in desk. I had to ask if I was in the right place to check-in. Once we entered our oceanfront room-we went directly to the balcony door-only to discover the latch was broken. The door would not open. We immediately called the front t desk for assistance. They said someone will be right there. 30 mins later, no response. My gf then went down to front desk and again asked for assistance and 3 people standing around suddenly remembered the phone call about a balcony door not operating! A call was made to maintenance and a very nice guy named Matt came RUNNING. The latch was fixed quickly and all was well until we chose to enter the bar area later that evening only to find the "bartender" half asleep on his phone in the lobby. Put down the phone, remove earbuds, do your job without the attitude! We wont recommend this place to anyone.

Great hotel overall. No onsite parking. Breakfast was good with a variety of options. Rooms were a decent size and clean with high ceilings. No microwave in room.

Stay was good except when the Police had to break into the room next to mine at 11:30 at night. I was told that it was a wellness check

Excellent pet-friendly property. Walkable to many dining options and steps from the beach. Rooms are clean and modern. The staff was helpful and delightful. 5 stars all the way!
