"We had a fabulous stay here from Monday to Thursday last week. We loved the room (at the back of the hotel so very quiet), the extremely comfortable bed and the rather impressive bathroom! The staff were all very friendly and helpful and the breakfasts and dinners ( we ate there on two nights) were very good. Some of the choices on the dinner menu were interesting and unusual. It's ideally located for visiting the Arne Nature Reserve which was our prime reason for choosing Wareham. We'd definitely like to stay again!"

"We booked a one-night Twixtmas mini break and it was a real treat to return to this beautiful, historic and welcoming hotel. Our room (No. 1) was wonderful — incredibly spacious, with a supremely comfortable four-poster bed and a generous, modern bathroom featuring a fantastic jacuzzi bath. Pre-dinner drinks in the oak-panelled drawing room were a delight; sitting by the roaring log fire was the perfect prelude to dinner. The meal itself was delicious — beautifully presented, perfectly seasoned and clearly well thought out. The hotel is ideally located right in the heart of the village, with Corfe Castle overlooking it and well worth a visit. There are also plenty of lovely pubs nearby. A truly relaxing stay for us, and somewhere we will definitely return to."

The Dorset Golf Hotel ★★★

"Spent a Friday to Monday on a 3 night, 4 round golf break in August 2026 as part of a group of 8 guys from my golf club in Bristol. Hotel room was clean and comfy with the only downsides being no Aircon (but a fan was supplied) and occasional hit and miss water pressure in the bathroom. The hotel was around 100 metres from the clubhouse and the courses. All the staff l came across were friendly and efficient. The food (breakfast and evening meal) was really good - and there was lots of it !! In the 4 rounds we played a various mix of the 3 x 9 hole courses. All presenting a good challenge With the heatwave weather, the tees and the fairways were really suffering (very dry and dusty) but l found the greens to be in very good condition - and very fast and sloping !) Some of the bunkers left a bit to be desired (some had patchy depths of sand and some were quite stoney) but with over 100 over the 3 courses l guess you can't have every one in top condition. Overall, a great - and very enjoyable - break. Would l go back ? YES - but probably in the Spring or Autumn when the courses will - hopefully - be in better condition."

"This was our second stay with David and Lorna and it more than lived up to our expectations. David and Lorna are wonderful hosts and run this superb B&B on the outskirts of Bere Regis. The Purbeck room is the room we have stayed in twice and is lovely. There is plenty of safe parking and we would have no hesitation in recommending a stay here if you are visiting the area."
