The comfort and well-being of the guest is of low priority here. Guests actually seem like a source of annoyance to many (not all) of the staff. Our rooms had black mould growing at skirting board level. One of the showers couldn't be temperature adjusted and only delivered scalding hot water and the area around the shower door/tray was absolutely filthy. Toilet roll holders are still on the wall but toilet rolls are now housed in one of those dispensers you usually get in public toilets so that you can't steal the toilet roll. I'm not sure what kind of hotel adds up the cost of stolen bog roll in their hotel rooms but I suppose when guests are an inconvenience that will happen. Breakfast fry was precooked and microwave heated 2 mornings out of 3. Considering we were in the restaurant at the opening of breakfast this is incredibly poor. It seemed to be cooked fresh on one morning so no idea what the system is. Fresh fruit is composed of tinned prunes and tinned grape fruit. The dinner menu looked good but overpriced. Mashed potato seemed to have no seasoning and was very lumpy with a very unpleasant texture. Fresh fish was overcooked and dry. We had a child with a severe dairy allergy in the party. Did was explained and the waiter assured us he would check the order with the chef. When food was delivered by a different waiter we asked again to be sure and the waiter seemed to to know nothing about it and returned to the kitchen to ask. The chef advised the meal contained dairy so we were asked to reorder. A gluten free menu was then delivered to the table?! Eventually e ended up with a plain piece of fish and lumpy mash long after everyone else had finished eating. No salad or veg in sight. We were charged 18.50 for this! We had stayed here before and while previously the accommodation was tired it was clean and staff were fantastic. Unfortunately this time round there were absolutely no redeeming features and we won't be returning.

We stayed as a large family over the June Bank Holiday weekend. We found the hotel and houses attached in awful condition. They were dirty and very unkept. The hotel and houses need to be upgraded! Last night there were slugs in the sink! All the rooms smell of damp! It's such a pity as it's a beautiful part of the country.

I would leave zero stars if I could.Awful. . I would NEVER tell anyone to eat here. The Seafood Chowder that I had yesterday lunchtime was the worse I had ever eaten. It tasted like salmon poached in diluted low fat milk or cornflour. Than the Caesar salad. In my mind a Caesar salad is one of the simplest salads on earth to make. This restaurant decided to make in complicated, We were really disappointed. came the mayonnaise... copious quantities of non-Caesar mayonnaise dressing. It was like eating mayonnaise with lettuce and boiled chicken slices in it, no parmesan. Officially the worst Caesar Salad ever.poor Chef & poor Value for money. Never go back again.. I wish I had read previous reviews before go this place.

Went to have our first dinner here as me and my wife wanted to try it. Well sorry to say it was the worst dinner I've ever had I'd honestly cook better myself. I ordered lamb dish. My discription of it would be. The lamb tasted like it was heated up in the microwave not fresh.very tough chewy hard to eat it was meant to come with potatoes more like a couple of potatoe gratin slice's thrown to the side not fresh potatoes with the dish and gravey just thrown on top terrible quality food new chef is needed badly.my wife ordered pasta and 30mins later to be told the food she had ordered was none left had to order something else for a so called 4 star hotel sorry but no. I was in a 4 star hotel for food in Wexford town far superior food was delicious so I'm sorry but no I wouldn't recommend to have dinner here. Management need to sort this out fast

Having eaten in the bar on many times pre covid I was looking forward to returning. But the experience didn’t live up to our expectations at all. The menu is extensive, which on reflection is not a great sign, our food was really poor. Two of the dishes were inedible, 2 dishes were ok, but certainly not up to par with the local chipper,!!!!!!!!!and one meal was fine (curry, so hard to go wrong). I had to complain to our sever who was pleasant and agreed the food was not good, he offered to take it away and another meal was ordered- fish and chips, it was fine, not great, batterer was hard and burnt. We ordered desserts as I suppose we were trying to make the most of or salvage a disappointing night out. The desserts were mediocre, meringue was rock hard and the summer fruits were apple and tiny pieces of plum…. No Wexford strawberries that’s for sure. A Captain Morgan’s and coke was ordered but…..there was no Captain Morgan’s in the establishment, again disappointing for a person who rarely drinks and fancied that drink. Service was hit or miss, with dirty plates left on table for long time and one of the drinks forgotten and had to be reordered. The bar man starting cleaning the bar and put the rubber beer trays hanging over the wooden area beside us which was pretty disgusting. When I went to pay the bill the food which had been sent back was still on the bill and I explained to the bar man that we were not able to eat that food etc etc, he said oh I don’t know anything about that, no communication between staff, I had to explain the whole situation again, it was not a nice experience and there was certainly no apology from the staff. I called to the establishment the next day and asked to speak to a manager, I explained the sorry saga to him, his reaction was one of indifference. I had intended on returning with 9 family members on the Friday night but obviously after all of this I told him I wanted to cancel the booking, again he seemed indifferent, told me they don’t normally receive complaints re food, especially the dishes we had and also suggested I could use social media to give my opinion. I actually thought that was so rude considering I had taken the time to come and speak with him. He did offer me a coffee and said I could bring family back for coffee/tea…..but there was no offer to make up for the experience by looking after family on the planned Friday night or a refund of any sort. Overall poor food, poor service and dire customer care. Obviously the hotel industry is booming and my business, opinion and experience was insignificant.

My sister had booked a table for family birthday drinks following 2 phonecalls with the hotel to confirm. On arrival we were informed that we would have to eat in order to be given a table. Despite having a reservation for a table for drinks, and there being multiple free (non reserved) tables on arrival, we were told we could sit in the lobby and have a drink and maybe a table might be free later on. The staff also appeared to be under pressure as they were snipping at each other. Such a terrible experience.

During a recent family vacation to Kilmuckridge, my family visited this hotel twice. The first was for a coffee and a snack. To be fair, it was not too bad- how hard can it be to supply a few coffees, softdrinks and cakes. Regardless, we decided to book a meal there for the following evening. In all honesty, it was a terrible experience. I get that sometimes you can get a little unlucky in a particular establishment on any particular night. However, it was the way it was dealt with by management that was so infuriating. A number of the meals we ordered had to be sent back- very basic meals to begin with. The replacements were equally as bad. Regardless, when we spoke to the manager on duty, which is something I very rarely do, they were completely obnoxious, unconcerned and apathetic. The lack of courtesy was astonishing. The attitude was : 'what do you expect/what do you want me to do about it?' Customer care/satisfaction and happiness appeared to be just something they do not do. In fairness, to the best of my knowledge there is no other hotel or restaurants in the locality- so management and owners of this establishment completely take advantage of this, and of course unsuspecting customers. Competition is a good thing for the consumer, and the lack of it enables this establishment to abuse their privileged position. I would strongly advise, do not do it- drive past it

Brown food. Tonnes of it. Refried scrambled eggs when you’re the first for breakfast is never a good sign. Fast forward to dinner and you have garlic mushrooms that were sent special delivery from Sellafield. Sent them back for a tomato and mozzarella salad. Surely the chef can’t f##k that up. But they did! Pure green tomatoes with curdled mozzarella on top and no dressing. Price for a family room over 200 euro. Bar staff lovely but the owner needs taken out at dawn and whipped with treble fried in old fat, chicken goujons.
