Whispering Valley Cottage Retreat

I surprised my dad with a stay at Whispering Valley Cottage Retreat for his birthday and both of my parents absolutely loved it. They couldn’t stop raving about how serene and cosy the place was. They were provided a platter as well!! 100% recommend

The most serene and peaceful spot to getaway from things. We took the kids and stayed in Tallowood cabin (2 bdrm, 2 bathroom). The view from the deck was amazing and we sat out there on the hammock and enjoyed nature even seeing wallabies bound past a few times. The bathtub overlooking the tranquil bushland was also amazing. Feeding the donkeys was a lovely experience for the kids and the owner was very accommodating and knowledgeable with this. It was a 10 minute drive to lots of activities to keep the kids happy too. We visited the Botanic gardens and bird centre, Mary Cairncross park and the Gardeners falls. All lovely. I hope to come back to Whispering Valley many times and only wish I could take the peaceful feeling back home with me!

We loved our stay at Whispering Valley. The wildlife and scenery was so relaxing. We spent most of our time on the balcony overlooking the stunning bush canopy. We loved how quiet and peaceful this place was. We will be back soon and have shared with our family and friends. Thank you for your amazing hospitality!

The cabin was perfect for our 'off grid' romantic getaway. Great amenities with fully equipped kitchen so we didn't feel the need to go anywhere. Great check in and check out system via text and not feeling rushed to get there by a certain time or "deal with anyone". Very friendly hosts willing to help out when there was a power outage due to the storm, including fresh water being bought down to us. Power outage wasn't too much of an inconvenience with Gas stove and BBQ available, was REALLY off grid! Highly recommend visiting the donkeys with your scraps! Cabins seemed closer to each other than we expected but never heard much or felt crowded, noise carried very minimally from family next door.

The valley induces restfulness. I had big plans to go out on the deck and meander my way through a book, but the natural sights and sounds of the valley captivated my attention then lulled me to sleep. My husband and I hadn't had a good holiday for about 7 years. I couldn't have wished for a better space to reconnect. We could have easily stayed at the cottage for all our needs were provided for there. However, the lure of Maleny, Eumundi Markets and Montville were a little hard to resist. The day was busy, but it was easy to recover in the restful space that Whispering Valley Cottage Retreat creates. The spa might have helped too.

This location was amazing with vast views of the valley, forest and dam. It was very quiet during our stay. There's a handful of cottages on site but you won't know it from your accommodation as they are all well separated by both distance and vegetation. The room was cozy and comfortable, the spa bath massive, and the welcome basket was more than generous. It's a short drive to Maleny and we were lucky with our timing to be able to hit Eumundi and Montville on a Wednesday (a Saturday would work also but may be busier). I'd highly recommend this place for a couple's getaway and my wife and I plan on visiting again in the future.

We stayed here, in the Tallowood cottage, with some friends for a weekend to attend a wedding in nearby Maleny. We found the accommodation comfortable and beautiful; very private, though only 15 mins' drive from the Maleny town centre. Despite warm weather during the day, evenings were cool enough to allow use of the fireplace. We also found the baths (a larger spa bath in the main bedroom, and a smaller spa bath with a better view in the other bedroom) wonderful. Though we did not use them, I would note that the television and sound systems are older, and probably not quite ready for a movie marathon. Instead, we used a small bluetooth speaker we had brought, which was more than powerful enough for the living space.

We stayed in Rosegum Cottage for three nights. Whispering Valley is in Witta and is a beautiful, rustic, yet very comfortable place to be. It was great to get away from traffic and city noises and just to listen to the breezes and birdsongs. The cabin was well setup and sitting in front of the wood fire place is a great way to spend an evening. The beds were very comfortable. I can't comment on the pillows as we always take our own when we travel domestically. It is one less variable to worry about. There is plenty of room in the cabin. The weber bbq on the verandah is a nice touch. We enjoyed a few nice meals cooked on it. It is a 15 minute drive from Maleny and a great base to explore the Sunshine Coast Hinterland. I just love driving around the area and I love the hinterland. I would definitely stay here again. Glen and Angela were lovely hosts. Unobtrusive but very helpful. Definitely follow their directions to get there. Both Google Maps and my Navman took me to someone's driveway on the other side of the valley! Note: If you lose or have intermittent mobile coverage then just take a few deep breaths and relax. The hosts warn you of that when you book.
