"I wonder why this hotel is not five star... Terrible, spotlessly clean rooms decorated to a high standard with an amazing view!!! Amazing bed, big LCD TV and amazing bathroom!!! The breakfast is so rich that we didn't have to eat lunch... It has a parking lot and they give you a free half hour of Sauna, steam bath or jacuzzi... It is certain that I will stay only at filoxenia when I visit Kalavrita again."

Even when we call the massage therapist, she said that it was closed. We were very disappointed. So may be, the hotel can change its name !"

"Beautiful hotel in a beautiful, under-appreciated part of Greece. “Design” gets in the way of function, at times, though. No signage to parking or reception. Dinner was good but wine prices left a bad taste. Cheapest glass was €12 (in Greece!). It was good but they should offer a cheaper option for people who just want a simple glass. To add insult to injury, the pour was tiny."

"This is a hidden gem on your way from Athens. The one negative I can say is that the pictures don’t really do it justice! The courtyard where you eat breakfast is stunning. The landscaping has been beautifully done and the pool is very relaxing. It is on a main road, but once you get inside the gate, you can’t hear or see any of that. Just views of the ocean! A very nice place to stay, with very gracious staff!"

"Traveling true very small villages and in a very mountaineus area we ended up at this 'hidden' hotel. The rooms were nice and did have a nice large balcony. We did have a room at the front (at the back you look at the pool) which was very fine. As the owner told us, they were just starting up again the hotel season after weeks of rain without many guests. For this reason the pool bar was not yet ready. There is an outside pool area with beds and an inside wellness style pool with Jacuzzi, sauna and massage facilities. The rooms were nice and specious. The breakfast was okay."

"What a perfect stay, we arrived to a dramatic thunderstorm and the wonderful staff took our car and our bags, then ushered us into the most comfortable, restorative and welcoming of hotels. The attention to detail in everything was utterly extraordinary. It is beautifully designed, renovated and appointed. We have stayed in many hotels in the Peloponnese over the years and there is nowhere like this extraordinary place. Utterly peaceful, gorgeous rooms, attentive staff, delicious drinks and food, all to be found in an isolated beautiful pine forest. Time stopped and we loved the hydro-pool, gym and sauna too. We booked through Mr & Mrs Smith, delicious handmade truffles and fruit platter and a local sparkling wine in our room waiting for us because of this booking route."
