La Vue Luxury Living Apartments

Zermatt|0.3km from Mountaineer's Cemetery
We came to choose La Vue as an alternative to hotels in Zermatt as we were 3 couples interested in traveling together. The self-appointed “Luxury living” has great reviews and a nice marketing (website) that looks attractive but leaves a lot of inconvenient FACTS aside…: To start with: there are very limited views (“La vue” in French) from the building of the Matterhorn contrary to many pictures and most other hotels in Zermatt. Secondly, the location is on the opposite side of town from all gondolas or lifts to the slopes: it is made worse by the fact that you have to climb a steep and long (400 yards) street, followed by a tunnel and 2 elevators before you can be back into your room: if you don’t mind the first time coming back from a long skiing day, it gets old after a few outings even to go for dinner down to the main street…Of course, that “detail” is not stated anywhere on the brochure or website and you have to be there to realize it.Lst but not least, the building is sitting above a major school with loud children and teens screaming at every break between classes...Worst if you are in a unit facing town...!! Although the recently (2012) built building features simple but tasteful design and style as far as the 3 bedrooms apartment was concerned, the shared amenities (reception, Spa, lounge …) are quite limited and fall short of Luxury standards: the indoor Jacuzzi is small and serves as a pool (unlike the generous size real pools that other hotels that we got to visit (modern like the Omnia, Cervo, or older establishments like Mont Cervin Palace etc…).There is no gym or work out / biking machine and the Massage team and menu are quite limited and overpriced ( I actually went for a massage at the Mont Cervin Palace Spa with amenities that are of decent size with great, international team of trained masseuses and a dedicated Manager… As far as Help/ Service is concerned, this “Luxury living” falls short again: front desk help has patchy hours ( when not smoking outside), most of the times nobody was there at standard hours and we had to deal with at least 6 different ( young/ inexperienced) agents over our 7 days stay…Except for Daniel, their English and knowledge was at best sketchy and their attitude not so great…If nobody is there, you then have to call the main hotel reception (Julen group) for remote (and delayed) assistance. The “cinema” movie room was stacked with storage stuff that blocked a third of the room and we were told that they don’t offer any DVD movie library, you just have to bring your own content… The only redeeming features at la Vue for us was a very abundant and quality breakfast served in room at the time of your choosing. When we went to the Omnia Hotel for a fine dinner, a few blocks away, we discovered an incredibly friendly and helpful reception staff even to outside guests, a great library/lounge bar/ area, an impressive pool and jacuzzi facing real Matterhorn views , and , of course, our dinner at their r

We stayed in suite 22 with our daughter. It was very clean and well maintained. The bedroom and living space both had an excellent view of the Matterhorn. The room was warm and spacious! Both spaces also had their own TV. The cable service cut-out every 10 minutes or so for 5 or 6 seconds at a time, but i can't fault the hotel for that, it was probably a provider issue. The WiFi was fast enough for each of us to be posting to the web and reading about what was going on back home. The master bedroom was nice even though Europeans still haven't figured out that couples prefer a Queen over two singles pushed together, each having their own duvet. It had nice access to the balcony and a window into the bathroom which made my daughter uncomfortable. Curtain on the bathroom window were provided, but the sliding glass window allowed all sounds to pass freely. There were plenty of places in the living room to store our clothing, but the master bedroom had none, which meant we had to fetch our clothes. My daughter slept on a Murphy bed that she thought was novel. The bathroom was the best we have had yet. Plenty of water pressure, clean Jacuzzi tub, Heated towel rack (a little flaky - play with the switch till it works). Two sinks! Window into Master Bedroom... previously mentioned. The Hotel provided breakfast which was awesome. Eggs and ham or bacon cooked to order, yogurt, breads, cheeses, fruit, and cereals were available. The workout room had a stair-master, a treadmill and weights, but who needs those after a day on the slope? It did advertise a Jacuzzi, but it wasn't much better than the one in our bathroom, so never tried it. The sauna was good for hurting muscles! It was a ten-minute walk up hill to the Matterhorn Express lift, if you didn't want to wait around for the bus, and we never wanted to wait. There is a 4-star restaurant that we visited on New-Year's eve. All the staff were friendly and conscientious. The food was great, but a typical since they usually cook the food over an open fireplace grill.

My friends and I visited Zermatt for the first time ever, in October 2023. We took 2 mountain-view rooms and were extremely glad that we did! After we arrived at the Zermatt train station, we decided to walk to the hotel on our own because the weather was beautiful, warm and sunny. Guests can opt for transport by an electric vehicle, which costs CHF15 per person, from the train station directly to the hotel. We arrived at the hotel after 10 minutes, walking to this hotel isn't too difficult, as long as your luggage has wheels. The roads are well-paved, you just need to watch out for cyclists and the electric vehicles speeding around the town. This hotel requires guests to check-in on their website, they send you a link via email, a few days prior to your visit here, so you that you can do a pre check-in even before you arrive. I didn't do that, so I did my check-in on the spot in front of the reception counter and was guided step-by-step by the friendly staff. Our rooms were ready, it was around 1pm. The rooms are very clean, has all the amenities of a 4-star hotel, including bathrobes and bedroom slippers, digital safe, hairdryer, coffee machine and basic toiletries. This hotel has a pillow menu, I went to the front desk to get a memory foam latex pillow for myself because I found the down pillows too soft. The room temperature was very comfortable, the rooms are heated by a central heating system, which is controlled by the hotel staff. There are no individual thermostats in the rooms. Our room balconies had unobstructed views of the Matterhorn mountain, the most recognisable mountain in Europe. This was worth every extra penny that we paid for the mountain-view rooms! IMPORTANT NOTE: Not every hotel room in any hotel in Zermatt has unobstructed views of the Matterhorn. If you are a first-time visitor to Zermatt, I recommend that you spend the extra money and get yourself a mountain-view room. This hotel is located away from the main street of Zermatt town, therefore it is very quiet and serene. At the same time, it is within walking distance to the main street, the GornergratBahn railway station, the Matterhorn Glacier Paradise gondola station, to the Matterhorn Museum, and to several excellent restaurants in Zermatt. You can ask the front desk staff for a walking map of Zermatt when you check into this hotel, I asked Christina for advise and restaurant recommendations, and she was most helpful. She gave me 2 maps of Zermatt, one map shows the tourists attractions and the other shows the restaurants. My friends and I dined at the Spycher restaurant, which is connected to this hotel, they serve AMAZING flambe beef and lamb! Our rooms included complimentary breakfast and it was good but not spectacular. You can have pancakes, omelettes and sunny-side eggs cooked to order. There is a healthy smoothie which consists of a combination of fruits and herbs, and it was delicious! A variety of tea and coffees are available, the hot food options inc

The overall quality of Swiss hotels is really high, with details in place everywhere. The same is true of this hotel. The handsome guy at the front desk is really super enthusiastic. He will say hello every time he meets, and explain how to play the Matterhorn route when he checks in. The breakfast husband said that it was the fullest day in Europe. There are boiled eggs and fried eggs. Fried eggs are not salty and rare, and there are small cakes. This salmon is super fresh and has a lot of fruit. The best thing is that the juice is freshly squeezed, squeezed by yourself, and there is a special machine for pressing fruits. The room was clean, the bed was large and comfortable. The balcony is also nice and you can see the street view. By the way, there are minibars in the room, all of them are free. This is awesome. There are beer and various drinks in it. Seems like 6 bottles. The coffee in the coffee machine is also very good, but I didn't drink it. The hotel has a free mini bus, the front desk said it would take us, but it was useless and I wanted to go around by myself. Very pleasant stay, recommend everyone. The price is not cheap or expensive, around 1500 a night.

I relied on *********** in selecting Matterhorn Lodge Hotel and Apartments for my four night stay. Communication was excellent for my potential late arrival by train from Frankfurt Airport. I arrived shortly after 21:00 and Ruth greeted me. We briefly discussed procedures for the stay and moved on to plans for the next day. She provided with a comprehensive trail, train, tram, chairlift, and gondola map. I told her I was interested in one route on my second day that involved somewhat higher elevation. She provided me with a suggestion for acclimation to altitude and loosening up for day one. The maps she provided were self explanatory and the main resource I needed. My room was stylish, clean, well furnished, quiet, and easily one of my best lodging experiences in 15 years and 54 overseas trips. The morning breakfast that was part of the package was well prepared and included a range of food options. The lodging was centrally located and convenient to the main train station and the many shops and restaurants on the main streets of Zermatt. I enjoyed the friendly and helpful staff and would look to see if there was space available for any future stays in Zermatt.

The best hotel in Switzerland, the wooden house, the room is very large, there is a sofa, a coffee table, a refrigerator, which is equivalent to four stars in China. It is also OK to have a bed with a 5-year-old child. You can see the snow-capped mountains on the balcony with a recliner. Breakfast for children is free, and it is awesome. Many hotels in Switzerland are charged, which is very suitable for friends with children. A little distance from the train station, but the town is not big, it is just a walk, and the hotel is very close to the Matterhorn Museum. European breakfast is relatively simple, mainly bread, milk, fruit juice and so on. The picture is the Matterhorn to the river near the hotel.

The owner of the store is very welcoming, the people are very good, the room is very clean, the breakfast is not suitable for the Chinese, most of them are bacon and omelettes, it feels like a small and refined hotel. Focus on the key! ! ! ! ! During the preliminary booking, we repeatedly confirmed whether Ctrip can bring two elderly children with five-year-old children. The answer is definitely no problem. As a result, when we arrived at the hotel in the evening, the boss refused us to stay on the spot and said that Ctrip’s agent informed the booking customer. With children, you can stay in a double room. In fact, you can only book a family room. Fortunately, Ctrip has a timely response to the communication and upgraded the room type to check in, but when you arrive at the store, the unpleasant experience is really bad!
