After resting in Lianjiang for three days, we perfectly avoided the May Day holiday and saved a lot of money, secretly pleased. Beihai Silver Beach, a must-visit place in Beihai, has a wide beach and fine, soft and white sand. It is known as the first beach in China and is suitable for swimming for about 9 months each year. Walking on the beach just after the tide has receded, even footprints will not be left, only the delicate white sand is shining in the sun. Another feature of Beihai Silver Beach is its length, about 24 kilometers long, such a long beach is rare in the world. The Beihai Silver Beach Scenic Area seen by tourists is just a part of the entire Silver Beach. The landmark building of the Silver Beach is called 'Tide', which is a large sphere and also the first music fountain in Asia. The sea is like this, full of magic, making people yearn for it. Beihai Old Street was built in 1883. It is a nearly two hundred-year-old street, 1.44 kilometers long and 9 meters wide. The buildings on both sides of the street are unique arcade-style buildings. There are both Chinese-style flying eaves and Western-style carved window lattices, combining Chinese and Western styles. It witnessed the prosperity of Beihai in the past, and now it has become a commercial street. There are pharmacies, wine shops, tea houses, etc. on the street, and you can also taste local delicacies such as spicy snails, shrimp cakes, and pig's feet powder. Beihai Overseas Chinese Harbor Style Street is the most popular snack street, mainly featuring Beihai and Vietnamese snacks. There are not many tourists who check in to the Overseas Chinese Harbor Style Street during the day. Starting from dusk, the flow of people gradually increases. At meal times, the street is crowded with people. Some internet-famous shops have long queues. Even if you simply buy a shrimp cake, you may have to queue for 10 to 20 minutes. But a reminder, if you are not familiar with here, be careful to avoid pits. The natural environment of Beihai is very beautiful, with fresh air and pure water quality, which is very suitable for various outdoor activities. It is a romantic city. The pace of life here is relatively slow, making people feel very comfortable and quiet.
