The floating tower

Belém Tower was first built to defend Lisbon. Years later, it was transformed into a lighthouse and then a tourist attraction. Inside Belém Tower, the ground floor of this architectural jewel has 16 windows with cannons. The visit also includes a tour of the pits and holes where the prisoners were thrown into, with other five floors to discover. During my visit to Belem, we took the train from Lisbon Port. I suggest going there just before the sunset, because the view is magnificent, you can see from the photos. I did not go inside the tower, but if you are a historic adic, I suggest going in.
